Love the art look of this game as well as the simple rule set. Heavy rules have kept me away from most train games, seems with heavy rule sets we spend more time going over rules and readressing them then actually playing, this game seems to have a nice balance

Yes this would be an easier game and more accessible while still having the feel Of a train pick up and deliver.

Maps are faux silk like in their game bloodstones, and the tiles are an acrylic/bakelite plastic also like in bloodstones similar to the Azul tiles

Bloodstones was great quality for the price, my hangup is that I have TTR for entry level and Empyreal Spells and Steam for more midweight. Don't know if I need a third train game in between them

Only have played a few of his games and enjoyed them. I do like pickup/delivery contract fulfillment games. Beat your own score makes this a pass for me. Of course when purchasing I make sure it has a solo mode I enjoy just in case the group doesn't like. Thanks for the review. Yeah I'm noticing a sizable price increase in games.

Looks interesting.. Nice deluxifications. Not sure about the complexity level and who I'd play this with ( too much for beginners, not sure if there is enough for veterans). Expensive. No solo. BB has been my #1/2 for years now, but this is a pass for me ( for now). I'll be watchiing this one's reception closely though.

Yes it is in that group of games that are now being made easier to be accessible but still have the marketing power of the name and designer.

Mr. Wallace makes really good games (at least, most of them), but his train games are usually too friendly and he's constantly trying to re-imagine the same game all over. I think that John Bohrer as a developer gave his magic ingredient in Age of Steam and that is the only game that I find necessary in his whole train game opus, others are fine but they are too cozy and a bit toothless. Just my opinion, I know that people like easy going train games so I guess there is a niche for everyone. Regarding the toothless friendly train games, I much prefer Empyreal from Trey Chambers.

I can understand that and I do enjoy conflict in a game or more tension. I have not played a lot of train game so I need to try others For sure age of steam being one on the top of the list. He is definitely trying to reimagine his mechanic as it is not new just in my opinion a simpler version. Thanks for watching and the detailed comments I really appreciate them!

@@BadatBoardgames Oh, you should definitely try Age of Steam as it is a pinnacle of euroized train game. You'll probably also like many of the cube rail games like Chicago Express or Gulf, Mobile and Ohio. But, in all honesty, it's all good and nice until you do 18xx. After that, it's like a cult. The better ones stick with you and haunt you even in your sleep :D

Yes is is another game in the long line of harder games that they are making easier and more accessible. I can understand what you mean.

@@BadatBoardgames Yep! I’d have preferred a sort of reimplementation of Brass, for example.
