I own a sign shop and am restoring my childhood Norco Freestyle Team Issue. I was literally sitting 6 feet from a bottle of isopropyl alcohol when I watched this. Worked perfectly. Also another tip- put a nickel inside the grip before installation. It will prevent the bars from wearing through the end of the grips.

Yes, finally. Thank you. Been doing this for 30 years. Use a spray bottle and a zip tie, and get 70% or 90%. Though 50% will work, but take a few minutes to dry.

Absolutely. That's why I'm thrilled you did this video. I see ppl say hairspray and even WD, lol, that's nuts. I would never think WD but hairspray has been tried. The second it touches sweat the grips will pop off so suddenly you could die. Don't ask how I know. :D

I've used this method and the air compressor method and the easiest methid by far is the zip tie method. Literally i use 5 or so zip ties, put them in the grip then slide them on my bar then just pull em out when you're done. Best method I've used and I have used it for a good while now. Is there an advantage of this method over hairspray?
@Brant_Moore3 жыл бұрын
Once the rubbing alcohol dries there's no residue or anything left over. So if you're going to for the stickiness of hairspray in keeping grips in place, then that may be the way to go. If you're just trying to put them on easy, this may be the way to go.

Vodka does the trick

The easiest way is to build some muscle and just slide it on haha. I've done that all my life until I got some really hard grips. You can try soap, which is the ghettoest method, but it needs to be a microscopic amount. Cheers
