I watched a lot of your videos as well as others before deciding on a juicer. I ended up with the Nama J2 because like you said I picked the juicer which I thought I would use the most. This juicer is so easy to use that I juice twice a day and I'm new to juicing. Really appreciate your videos and I was able to use your coupon code as well. Thanks and keep it up!

I love my mama j2. A tip: in between different fruits or veggies and right before cleaning, I fill the juice container with water and run it through to clean the juicer. It barely takes any time to do this and really helps with the cleaning. Although cleaning this juicer is so easy and quick. Also, your tip about the benefits of using the skin for example in cherry tomatoes versus whole tomatoes was helpful. So I'm thinking grapes would be easier to juice because they have so much skin. Again, thank you for this video. Your tips, as usual, are so helpful. I have purchased juicers from you in the past and have always been pleased.

I was just thinking this might work well with adding some harder stuff in with the wet pulp. Like put in some chopped carrots or sweet potatoes, and then put the wet mango sludge back in with it, and see if the harder stuff helps juice the wet pulp a bit more?

Frozen tomatoes will not juice. If you freeze and thaw, then they will be even softer. For tomatoes: Buy FIRM cherry tomatoes for best results. after that the smaller firmer tomato works better than soft big ones.

Still new to juicing with my Nama J 2 , I did juice mangoes with lilikoi and then had to add carrots to get the fiber pushed through. The juice was good but not good enough to go through the trouble of juicing mangoes again. The juice was also a bit to thick for me.

There's quite a lot of videos on the J2, but it is disturbing to see many people with faulty parts and claiming warranty replacements, given this is so new. I wonder if it is user error or weak points in the juicer?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure how other people are using their juicer. I can tell you that I experienced two main parts breakage: Hinge lid, which I may have caused by loading up the juicer too much and slamming the lid down. Nama replaced, and have told me they strengthened the part to prevent this from occurring in the future. The clip that holds the pulp outlet also broke for me. On this part, I don't think I did anything "abnormal". they quickly replaced this part, and have also told me they made this part stronger to eliminate this problem in the future. I believe the Nama J2 is a stable product and durable if used according to the instructions.

This juicer looks super convenient where does the green star juicer rank in comparison?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
depends on your specific use. The green star will make a higher quality juice for sure, and generally will also make a higher yield juice especially on root veggies. That being said, it does take longer to clean, and more nooks and crannies to clean. Furthermore this video is "best juicer for juicing fruit". I would NEVER juice straight fruit in the green star as the twin gear system will just back up in most instances, and not juice straight fruit. if you mix 50% fruit with 50% roots (carrots, etc) there is enough hard fiber to push thru the softer fiber.

So, dumb question... With something like mango and watermelon or other "squishy" things, you say that adding something harder can help to juice them more effectively. Would there be any benefit to running the "wet" pulp back through the juicer **with** some harder things added, like carrot, or sweet potato, etc.? Like put in some hard stuff, plop your "wet pulp" back in, and then add some more "hard stuff" on top, so it all kind of mixes in together in the auger and maybe you end up squeezing out more of the juice from the soft "wet pulp" by adding the harder bits to it, or vice versa, on a second pass?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
YES. You can do this. I do it all the time to extract more juice out of the pulp. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmianXiYZqtlfZI where I demonstrate this with celery pulp, but I also do it with fruit pulp or other pulp.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
I recommend vacuum blending those fruits instead of juicing them. They dont make lots of juice, and you will basically lessen the food value by juicing them. as there is so much pulp waste. The best for those fruits if you need to remove the insoluble fiber would be the vacuum juicing method with bag or a hydraulic press. Cherry pits need to be removed before juicing, except on the Sana 727 (I have a video coming on this)

John, how do you use the watermelon rind for a bug catcher?
@josh.r
@josh.r 2 жыл бұрын
He talked about it on a gardening video on his other channel. I think he said he puts big pieces in his garden, red side down, and comes back later when they're covered in bugs, and disposes of them. It doesn't "catch" them, but it brings them to one place, and makes it easier for him to remove a lot of bugs at once.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
it put them skin side up and then pill bugs are attracted to the moisture. They crawl on it to eat the inside. I simply pick the whole rind up and dispose of the bugs and all. Some pill bugs are on the soil, I will also scoop up that is under the watermelon peel.

depends on how you define "better". I personally love the EASE of use of the Nama J2, as I no longer have to drop each piece of produce into the machine. I just load it up the hopper. You can watch the EVO820 vs Nama J2 video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnXWmKqfbrOMq8U the New REVO Juicer uses the same basic design. I have not yet done yield testing.
@Victoria-bl4tw

Apples and oranges. I believe what will be released in the summer is a new Kuvings vacuum blender and not juicer. The latest Kuvings juicer is still the EVO. I personally love the Kuvings both the EVO and C7000 which is the one I have. I will wait for reviews and demonstrations on the new Kuvings blender but seemed on the larger size at the trade show and not sure it would be good for my purposes. John in the past has preferred the Omega VSJ juicer. Sometime after this, while promoting the Dynapro vacuum blender, he mentioned that he had been juicing wrong all his life and now prefers to vacuum blend and then strain through a bag. He’s good at presenting people with options and comparisons. It’s a good idea to listen to several videos and arrive at your own conclusions/decisions. It’s also also a good idea to read reviews.
@Victoria-bl4tw
@Victoria-bl4tw 2 жыл бұрын
I totally forgot that there was a new Kuvings juicer at the trade show but I can see why it may nor made an impression on me. The only difference from the EVO or C7000 is that there is a cutter shoot for celery and carrots. Essentially it’ll cut these veggies to prepare for juicing. For me it’s not enough to upgrade.

John, as I wait to see if Tribest will fix my juicer, , I am thinking about getting this one because I have a disability and cannot stand for long periods of time, and all the chopping and feeding the juicer is getting harder for me. It is on my list. That being said that model is not available in the USA at this time. Based on my testing of the H200, (which was a fail) the H300 is an improvement, but for me, the SCREENLESS design technology is "not there yet" and will always "underperform" in terms of yield and pulp created in juice. Based on the H200 vs Nama J2 video, I would rather own the Nama myself.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
I still own it, but frankly, since the Nama J2 came out, I rarely (if ever) use the Omega VSJ843. Let's face it each juicer has their own set of pros and cons. While the VSJ843 is still an excellent juicer, with newer technology, juicers (and other items improve) The VSJ843 came out in 2014. Until 2021, there was no significant improvements in the technology, in my opinion. While the Nama J2 pretty much makes the SAME yield & quality juice and has a longer parts warranty, the Nama J2 just makes the whole juicing process "easier". and I am a "sucker" for easy. I have fed.pushed thousands of pounds of produce into juicers and the Nama J2 makes it EASIER to Juicer, that that is why I use it. I always tell it like it is.. I share with you what I use in my kitchen for EACH task at hand. I don't ALWAYS use the Nama, but use it the most of all the juicers I own. If another company came out with a "better" juicer, of course, I would use and more heavily promote that machine. I believe the Nama J2 is a game changer and can help get more people juicing in the end, because it does make the process easier, and in tne end increase vegetable and fruit consumption in the USA and around the world, and that is a good thing, we would all agree.

How does this stack up against the VSJ843?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
Cleaning: VSJ843 Wins (1-3 minutes less) Yield - Evenly Matched Juice Quality - Evenly Matched Warranty - VSJ843 wins with 15 yrs parts warranty, nama only has 2 years customer service: Nama has better customer service at present time Ease of USE: this is where the J2 wins as you load it up and turn it on, it autofeeds and precuts produce so you dont have to Jamming/Backing Up - the Nama J2 jams/clogs less because the juicer precuts and feeds the produce for you. On the vsj843 if you are not doing it optimally, it may clog/jam and give problems.

Hi JOHN: 🙋🏼‍♂If I want a super reliable juicer -- with built-in heating for soup-making purposes -- which Vitamix do you recommend ⁉
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
I have not reviewed vitamix blenders, I only recommend vacuum blenders at this point, and I do not recommend running them so long so that your mixture gets hot. That can cause nutrient degradation. I would blend in a blender and then heat up on the stove.

I became very intrigued with vacuum blenders and bought one. I find mine to be very finicky and in my opinion they still need tweaking. Of course this is just my experience but some companies have discontinued them.The Vitamix is an excellent machine and have had one for years. Nothing is stronger. I’ve made soups in mine but to be quite honest, although they come out steaming, the result is too foamy. Best is to blend ingredients and heat up on the stove. However, it will make excellent smoothies, sauces, sorbets, nut butters, etc. The 750 is a very good machine. Again, my opinion only. Best is to do some research and hopefully you’ll find which one suits you best.

I just got the Nama as per your recommendation, I juiced apples with the proper juicing strainer (not the other smoothie strainer) for the J2 and it's just straight apple pulp... I contacted Nama, I'm waiting on their response... If I wanted pulp i could have just paid 10$ at a thrift store for a blender... I was under the impression to do a juice fast the nama cold press juicer would be perfect for fruits? Am I just stupid? What is the point of getting a cold press juicer if it just makes the juice pulpy? My cheap centrifugal juicer does a better job with apples than the nama J2... I dont get it, and I'm so upset I waited 147$ on duties/taxes for such a rip off. I really hope I just got sent faulty parts. I'm confused because that mango juice in the video is full of pulp?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
I apologize for your experience with the nama J2. First, please understand each juicer has its own pros and cons. The high speed juicer will put the LEAST pulp in the juice of any kind of juicer except a $2500 pure juicer or vacuum blending. The Nama J2 will put MORE pulp into the juice than your high speed juicer. That being said, the Nama J2 can also make MORE juice than your high speed juicer. See the video I made at kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmbGfoeVjbGNqNk That being said, some fruit will make a more pulpy juice, oranges make less pulp in the juice, while apples put more, and papayas put even more. it is VERY important to select the MOST hard, FIRM, and even unripe apples to juice when using the J2 as soft apples will create more of an apple sauce, which is what I think you may have experienced.

"I'm confused because that mango juice in the video is full of pulp?" What part is "confusing??" He literally explained that softer/squishier fruits&vegetables will result in wetter expelled pulp and more pulp in the juice because there is less "hard" pulp for the auger to grab hold of and "squeeze juice out of," instead simply "squishing" it into a wet mush (which either goes out the waste tube or out the juice tube as extra-pulpy juice). Firmer things will work better for juicing, since it is better able to "[com]press" the material to get the moisture/juice out rather than just having it go "squish."

Yes, I juice cabbage on a regular basis. It does tend to foam a bit, so add root veggies 1:1 ratio to reduce foaming if that concerns you.

Yes, it works best when watermelon is NOT peeled, as the rind is more fibrous.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 жыл бұрын
Lance, this machine CAN juice pineapples, its important to buy them FIRM and HARD. I would also precut the pineapples into 2 pieces: outer flesh chunks and core slices. This will ensure the nama J2 will work the best when juicing pineapples. Of course if your pineapples are TOO SOFT then use the Jicama tip I share in the video is the sure-fire way to get it to work.

I've seen folks [@FullyRawKristina] juice pineapple and have no problems whatsoever: kzbin.info/www/bejne/faDSm42eYseWoZI Sounds like "user malfunction" [probably using mushy over-ripe pineapple that just turns into goo 'cause it has no firm pulp to properly grip onto and squeeze]... Like he's said, add something firmer in with it, like carrots, or sweet potatoes, or whatever, and it might help juice it properly, since it'll have some firmer material to allow it to properly "grip"/"squeeze" rather than simply "squish into a paste."

We had a masticating juicer and a Aicook centrifugal juicer like this one kzbin.infoUgkxXHNfxr6U9XrHQpsdjUrKNVP231BfS9q9 Both of them made about the same amount of juice.The Aikcook one died in 3 weeks haha. China brand. LolSo we bought this one since at least we knew the brand name and it was about the same price.Imagine our surprise when we make two 16 oz cups of celery juice and have leftover celery. We juiced it and made almost another cup! Same thing happened with our cucumber juice. So it's about 20 - 30 % more juice than our other two juicers including the masticating cold press one!The motor is so much stronger on this one than the Aikcook. It sucks in the vegetables and spits them out like it's angry.I've only had it a few days so don't know how long it will last but all the plastics and interior is much stronger and better made than the other two we had. If it breaks, I can buy a new one with the savings in vegetable bill. Haha.This literally is going to save me about 60- 80 bucks a month because of the juice output. No one likes to waste food.Update! It broke in 8 days. Motor started freaking out. I'm going to get another of them and try my luck because I really really want this one to be the one.
