If you don't want to block the project (like me) plan on using a larger hook so the stitches are a bit more loose AND make a wider border. I often will do a border with about 7 rows of single crochet for a tunisian blanket. The weight of the border helps to pull out the curl.
@jennykim4113
@jennykim4113 3 жыл бұрын
So if you don't block the end how do leave the stitches till you do the border just leave stitch marker on last stitch and bord them all together when finished with stripes? Sorry if I'm being a bother this is my first Tunisian and just wondering
@Mrs.Silversmith
@Mrs.Silversmith 3 жыл бұрын
@@jennykim4113 For a project worked piecewise like the one in this video I would finish the main part of the blanket first then attach at a corner and just go round and round the blanket with single crochet. For a blanket worked in rows just bind off last row with slip stitch, chain one, rotate work 90 degrees and start single crochet down the side so you don't have to cut your yarn.

I found your channel recently and have been binge watching all your videos. when i saw this blanket i knew this would be perfect for my left over yarn. I rode the struggle bus for quite a while trying to start the second panel. I couldn't get it joined correctly. I'm left handed. In the end I decided to make the panels separately and then join them at the end. Thank you for your great videos, instructions and patterns.

Thank you for your lovely channel and for your excellent teaching style. I made a Tunisian baby blanket for a friend of mine over 40 years ago (when I was 18) and remember loving how solid it looked and how easy it was. I haven't crocheted since then, but wanted to start again. I searched and searched for that style of crochet stitch and when I found you--and that this style of crochet had a name--I go so excited! I bought a set of Tunisian hooks and made this blanket (throw size) for myself and I love it! Just at the blocking stage now and can't wait to wrap myself in it. I made lots of rooky mistakes on this one, so when I make it again (and I will!) I will do better. Thank you again! You're terrific.

Just sprang for the paid PDF pattern. The Tunisian join-as-you-go technique reminds me of when I was crocheting a "10-stitch blanket" (for a LYS contest), and was constantly having to work into the side of the previous section of spiral strip as I crocheted a new strip section. (Had to use hundreds of stitch markers on that thing, too!)
