Tunisian is my favorite type of crochet! It has been awhile for me so it was great to be reminded how to start! I have sooo many Tunisian hooks! Especially for some of the thick yarns. So excited to maybe try this again!

Another option to not finding a long cabled Tunisian hook is to do the blanket in blocks much like a granny square blanket using the hook you have and stitching it together.

Wow, you make this so simple. My biggest pet peeve is when I started a blanket with a hook. It was easy, and then I started having issues. Instead of tearing it all aprart and starting over! Kept on going. Well I'm not liking it at all. After seeing this. I might pull it all and start over. I dont work on it every day. So this project has dragged on. Lol. I think by Christmas 😂 I might be done. Lol really enjoyed your time to explain it! Thank you

When I use caron simply soft yarn. It is heavier Weight
@mooglyblog7 ай бұрын
I did a little bit of research on this, and if my math is correct, Bernat Plush (not Big, regular Plush) is the heaviest I've tested, weighing in at approx 1.7 grams per yard. I hope that helps!

How do you know if you go into or skip the first or next to the last stitch?
@mooglyblog11 ай бұрын
With Tunisian, the loop on your hook before you begin a row counts as your first stitch, so you can "skip" that one. You should pretty much always work into the last stitch unless you are doing some shaping, as for a garment.

Hi how came my tunisian keep curl
@mooglyblog20 күн бұрын
Hi Karen! Tunisian has a natural tendency to curl due to the structure of the stitches. To combat this, there are a few things we can do. 1. Use a much larger hook than you would normally use for that weight of yarn. The looser the stitch, the flatter it will lay. 2. Use Tunisian Purl Stitches along the edges or as a border or design feature to push the fabric the other direction. 3. Blocking after the project is done. I hope that helps!

I am driving myself nuts trying to find a long cabled double ended crochet hook to make a blanket. I watched a very old video where she makes a wide blanket using a 14" cro hook. According to her you can make it any width you like just by turning and using two colours. I cannot find any instructions on how she does it, and her video is hard to follow. Have you seen anything like this please? Her video was called "Crochenit Bedspread Technique". I do know how to do the TSS.

Hi Mary! Finding long cabled crochet hooks can be tricky! You might want to look at this selection on Amazon (afflink): amzn.to/3PSwlcq I just looked up the video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5CzmHmZmdZ-qqMsi=Mdb71FfxRpRqP7aQ - what a fascinating technique! The video is a bit blurry though. I tried to find another video demoing this technique, which is basically a variation of double ended crochet, but haven't been able to find anything, much to my surprise! I think I'll have to start playing with this technique myself and see what I can come up with. :) Thank you for leading me down this new rabbit hole!

All the Yarnspirations patterns are free downloads, but I do think it's an automatic download when you hit that blue button.
