Another fine tutorial. Seeing how the painting is built is so very interesting. Learning how to distribute light /dark, shapes and colors is challenging but the real time videos with you voicing your decision making is so much better than some robotic rendering of rules. Excited to see the fall tress and definitely want to paint, birds, plants and doodles all in one grouping. I’ve done each alone following your tutorials and now is the time to take it to the next level. Thanks.

I love your accent(I’m from California),and I only found you a few month ago. I fractured my distal fibula, and was laid up for quite a while. I love your style so much. I’ve been painting for a few years with acrylics under Angela Anderson..I learned a lot from her, but I LOVE LOVE your style, esp with the paint smudges(???) and then the pen to outline a flower, or bird or what ever. Your voice is smooth pleasant and I watch you every day. I’m 71, and we have 2 acres gardens veggie and flowers, and I have 2 barn cats and 40 chickens. But every once in awhile, depending on circumstances, I have to take a back up pill to help me get through it. 🙁 I do love your videos, Diane. I am a beginner in water colors but still don’t like anything I paint. But I am sticking with it…my dear mother, now departed, was quite artistic. She painted in oils. She loved to paint sailboats. They were so pretty! I am very fond of impressionistic style and abstracts..you mentioned Diane Love. I watch her as well. She’s pretty out there sometimes but I love her energy. Just as I love your calm, soothing style. I do like hearing about your daily life in France and all the animals bleating and chirping and barking! 😂

My first larch was a sapling in full autumnal yellow planted on the shore of the turquoise Lake Louise in Alberta - stunning contrast:) Although I've lived in Canada for almost 30 years, I'm still in awe of its scenic splendours!

We used to live very close to Lake Louise, in Canmore. I’ve always remembered the moment I got out of the car when we arrived there. Having driven out from Calgary. I took a breath of the air and was absolutely knocked sideways when I tasted how fresh and clean it was❤️

As I watch this video I realize what sets you apart - the sound effects; the birds, the paws across the floor and the occasional furry ear. They all reinforce that painting for most of us is part of life not just a sterile execution of a lesson.
