This tasted great. I had some leftover sauce so I recycled it by making a second batch. This time, I marinated the chicken with the sauce and my goodness....it was phenomenal.

Kudos for using the terms "Bahasa Indonesia" or "Indonesian". Some people just used the word "Bahasa" which doesn't make sense because it literally means "language". "Do you speak bahasa?" = "Do you speak language?" Make no sense...

Hi Sugakick, you may not get the flavour we're trying to achieve without them. Try substituting coriander seed powder with equal parts of cumin and oregano. As for turmeric powder, try substituting with paprika. If you don't have any of the substitutes, try adding meat curry powder. No guarantee though. Happy cooking!

Is it me or does that blender look really cool? I will try this recipe. But I'm gonna use my loyal swiss bamix who soon turns 8 years old. It's still good as new. Btw! Good that you did not leave the chicken in citric acid for too long. It would alter the texture and make chicken rubbery. Lots of cooks don't understand that this will chemically cook the meat and turn it into rubbery overcooked chicken ceviche.
@spicenpans4 жыл бұрын
Heh thanks. The blender certainly got some feeling excited. We left the chicken in citric acid for about 15-20 mins. The chicken wasn’t rubbery at all. Yum!

u can make basic bumbu/paste (1/2 kg shallot, 1/4 garlic, 1 thumb ginger). blend it into paste then cook it with oil till cooked well (until it dry). cool it completely. then u can save it in freezer. it last 1 month even more. usually 1 pack it into small portion in 1 for 1 cook (1 tbsp=1 portion) if i want cook tumistempeh i take 1 bag then add chilli, galangal, bayleaf, kaffir lime leaf, sweet soysauce, oyster sauce, and tamarind, salt*sorry for my bad english* ... oh i always do the same for chillie.. i blend and cook it and store like i did with the bumbu basic...
