You’ve got my brain thinking “what if…”! I’ve got sooooo many scraps, and I’m thinking the color combinations are virtually endless! Both for the little corners AND the background squares. Thank you for another great tutorial. 👍🏻💖👵🏻

Absolutely adorable! I see many possibilities even outside of using scraps. Thinking it would be grand in red, white, and blue. Love it 🧵✂️

You made a beautiful quilt and explained everything well! I was looking for a quilt pattern to make for a baby gift. I like that this pattern uses up scraps. I have everything I would need! I recall seeing a version of this pattern about 30 years ago - it was featured in a beginner quilt making class for teens. It was known by the name "Stretched Stars" Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to make this quilt!

Such a charming project. As part of my "get more for less" fabric purchases, I keep an eye out on closeout neutrals. Hancock's of Paducah frequently has "buy more in save" on top of great sales. I frequently look for tone on tone prints (though sometimes it is too easy to get them reversed between right and wrong sides. I get Kona Snow and Silver off the bolt as well. I try to keep my my yardage price for premium fabric to 4-5 dollars per yard. Having beautiful neutrals that can be used in many settings helps make the most of materials. This is a perfect use of scraps. Your frequent use of flanging (fillets) in unexpected spaces (e.g. intra border fillers) is wonderful, and I've not seen it demonstrated anywhere. And of course, inter border fillets/flanging always add visual interest just as they do in home decor.

Thank you sew much! Just recently found your channel and really like the projects you make. Had to go back and search your videos to learn what a "fill-it" was! LOL Maybe we call that something else, like flange? here in the US as I've never heard it called that before. I really like its addition to a quilt though.

As a beginner can I please ask if this is correct for a larger square - the scrap piece needs to have dimensions equivalent to half the solid square minus seam allowance? Eg a 6inch solid square would need a 2 3/4" square from scrap???
@carriemayer29803 жыл бұрын
Those dimensions would work perfectly. However, as long as the scrap squares are all the same size (2.5, 2.75, or even 3 inches), you will get a similar look. Have fun!
@glenelle243 жыл бұрын
@@carriemayer2980 thank you so much!
@SewingStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, The comment below is correct. If you wanted to go up to a 10inch square background you would need 4 1/2" colour for your corner.
@mrsmcdonald93633 жыл бұрын
I made this butterfly quilt using 5” squares and 2.5” square points. The extra .25 inch didn’t change the look.
