Easiest TFO's for Earning Marks | Star Trek Online

Running patrols is great for marks that don’t have a lot of TFO’s to play, and select battle zones. The New ROM run is the easiest. They are all 5 waves of ships to pew pew...I call it the JACGNAB Run also...Japori, Acamar, Carrara, Gamma Eridon , Narendra, Archer & Beta Thoridar. By the time you finish the last one, Japori for have cooled down. And DO Acamar, it’s the easiest, you don’t have to pay attention to the dialog, just hit the F key until ships arrive and blast them. New Rom ground have some good 20 hour cool down missions, they were gone but are back. Staging Area and The Atlai are by far the easiest and fastest to do.

I would recommend posting up the Dyson sphere ground battlezone for Dyson rep marks. I think it's better than any Dyson TFO. Definitely best rewards from any battlezone in the game as of right now.

It is definitely one of the most fun areas in the game -- though many people in the game don't focus on ground combat at all, so the ground stuff can be a struggle for them (in fact, there is potentially as much stuff to upgrade with ground combat with your bridge officers as there is on your starship!). When I cover my personal suggestions for bridge officer abilities for ground of what works to cruise elite content without even trying (and overkill for anything else), I will give a strong suggestion then for people to check out this area. I mentioned TFO's here as that is the main way that people earn marks for reputations at the moment in STO.

@@CounterYoloGaming I dare say that for Dyson marks this would beat TFOs, especially as this gives the most rewards for your time spent compared to any other battlezone or Dyson TFO in the game right now. Of course unless Cryptic decides to nerf it... So I think this really should be in the "Honorable Mention" category instead of the other TFO "Breach." On a personal note, the TFO "Gravity Kills" should be easier to do if people used tractor beam repulsors more often to push Tzenkethi ships into the black hole. If you ever do strategy videos on TFOs, that should be a nice tip. I've never seen anyone else utilize the black hole that way, just myself.

On Gravity Kills I'd like to add it bugs out quite often at least in my experience. I've had several runs where the Grav Anchors for the satellites just don't spawn you can't destroy them once the shields are taken offline. Also had it not register when Grav Anchors WERE destroyed.

Thanks for pointing this out! I've seen that bug 2x when playing this TFO, but it seemed to be quite infrequent. Then again, I've only played it about a half dozen times since AOD launched, so that expansion could have agitated the bugs even further. I really only put it in the list almost because I felt I had to, as it is technically available. Dranuur Gauntlet is my real recommendation for getting Lukari elite marks in general (and using choice-of-marks TFO's for extra marks if your groups can't complete the optional objectives on the mission).

Thanks for the video, Good points on the Queues for marks. I myself dislike the Battle for Procyon V for Temporal marks so I do the Defend Starbase One again.

Doing missions that let you choose every mark, like that Best Served Cold or the Binary Stars is better than Procyon V

For Dyson Marks, I'd just do the battle zone.. look for zones that are completing. Really easy to farm marks/dil that way.

I was in a fleet that had a fleet admiral that was all in on PVP and would challenge me every time i logged in to i got to the point of when i got low HP i would ramming speed killing us both. He eventually got bored and finally stopped challenging me. I am a casual player and still dont have the kind of gear he had 6 years ago

While I realize that you were only taking about TFOs in this video it looks like you were actually going for best way to get the various marks. How about a video on the various Battle Zones, which are usually a better way of getting the various marks?

I will get around to this eventually; talking about ground builds again is in order first before tackling those (as many of the battlezones are in ground, and the ground builds are terrible for most people in the game sadly...).

It is still useful if you need a LARGE amount of a specific type of marks. Many players nowadays just use the Random TFO system to get a lot of their marks if they need all of the marks (but especially for the Competitive Reputation, as those TFO's never pop without a premade 10-captain group, so getting the extra choice-of-marks box after each RTFO helps there). EDIT: Also typically the "Featured TFO" also allows you to typically choose any of the reputation marks in the game as well for its reward. It depends on how long that TFO is as to whether that is better than just doing RTFO's.

Between the things listed, or doing random TFO's and red alerts for Mark's (when those are available) is still fairly accurate today. Whenever Cryptic adds a new reputation, I will make another video.

With a good tank, The Dranuur Gauntlet is a lot easier. That being said... the Lukari Rep weapons are amazing for tanks anyway... So have at it. What really makes me upset is that my tank is the 23c Character... and she can't get Lukari marks in her Temporal Operative reward system! I think it's because the Lukari Rep didn't exist when they made those characters? Very sad.

You are correct on that. It's the same reason Delta recruits can't get many of the later reps for their reward system as well, and gamma recruits won't have later reps in their reward system as more are added to the game. I was off by 12 hours to get a 23c captain with the temporal recruit rewards -- still a little mad about that...

I haven't played on console, though this shouldn't be that different on console (even with how old this video is -- most of the newer TFO's are really long vs the marks you get from them, and no new reputations yet). I advise what is in this video still if you are trying to get specific marks, but otherwise running Random TFO's will generally get you more marks if you are trying to get marks for every reputation. The biggest change to console vs PC from what I can tell for playability is (1) lack of being able to chart accurate dps , and (2) less buttons to using activatable consoles (only ones that can be set to auto-fire at a certain condition are generally usable for you all from what I hear -- and that isn't specifically labelled for you all for some reason...).

Only farm TFOs for elite marks. If you want regular marks wait for an event and farm that instead. The TFO rewards suck.

Defense of Starbase One is still #1 for the Discovery Legends reputation. Although I feel Peril over Pahvo and Pahvo Dissension are on par with each other (assuming you have equally good space & ground builds), I see Peril over Pahvo A LOT when I queue for Random TFO's (along with Defense of Starbase One) -- so I think the community feels that Peril over Pahvo is the more appropriate honorable mention here.
