The third and final part of my updated Lobi store must-haves: ground gear! Instead of going through every single item in the ground gear tab of the Lobi store, in this video I just went over the some of the most recommended ground gear, as well as some of the must-avoid items in there.

I would note the Sautéed Shiitake in the Devices tab, while useless on its own, as its just a food item, does have one special property. If you have the Black Alert tribble, Sautéed Shiitake is the only food that can allow it to breed the Mycelial Tribble, which is effectively a better version of the same tribble. Its not better by much, and there used to be an even better version that could be bred from the food that isn't available anymore, _but_ those who got the reclaimable Black Alert tribble giveaway a while back can make the most of this to improve it, if only a little bit. Its also super cheap at only 1 lobi, so if you have a few Lobi left over that can't afford anything else, you might as well breed the better tribble - just make sure the Black Alert tribble is the only one in your inventory when trying for this, as if another tribble winds up eating the Shiitake, it'll just roll a generic tribble. As for weapons, I recommend the Multibarrel Phaser Pistol Special Issue from Lower Decks. Its a bit of an odd one, like an insane mix of split-beam and wide-beam that hits up to five enemies at medium-range, plus using the 'ammo' mechanic. Its not as powerful as the Split Beam version, but it is better for swarms of smaller enemies like Hurq Attendants or Dewan Arthropods. Its also super fun to watch it spew shots in every direction. The MACO Pulse Rifle has an interesting alt-fire that's functions a bit like a split-beam, but fires stun projectiles at multiple enemies. Its not the best weapon ever, but its fun to mess around with, and maybe players who have a better understanding of how to make the best of stun debuffs can get more out of it than I can. Lastly, and this is purely a space-barbie recommendation, the Zhat Vash weapons have a unique variant of the vaporization animation when defeating humanoid enemies with a crit, if that's your thing.

The Hur’q Acoustic Resonator is AMAZING in Operation Wolf, or any map with hordes of ground enemies. For us old folk, it’s the Contra Spread Gun of STO.

Shax Cannon + Trait: Firearm Specialist is a good combo, I think. The trait decreases the secondary fire mode cooldown on weapons allowing you can cut down enemies like tissue paper.

I'd also like to submit the MACO Pulse Rifle and the Jem'Hadar Assault Minigun. The former is my Space-Barbie weapon of choice for my main, but it's also a good full-auto rifle with a sniper shot secondary which does good damage and stuns up to three targets. The latter is my Gamma Recruit's weapon, and has an AoE on both its primary and secondary fire, even if it's just a cone ahead of you. Both have done me very well fully upgraded. Might not be "meta" but they're a testament to how any weapon from there will be perfectly fine for any content.

The one that interests me most is the 2150s era phase pistol, I think it looks cool and something about that secondary fire sounds really fun. Probably gonna buy either the phaser cannon or the discover rifle though....

Great video. I wish there was a plasma weapon for Romulans. I was looking at an older lobi video that said Romulans get bonus plasma damage. Going to look at some stuff for a couple of toons I have. Thanks again!

One weapon I'd suggest avoiding would be the Ferengi whip . It's cool as a visual / role playing weapon, but it has outstandingly bad performance as a combat weapon ... , so much so that at times I had to ask it's users to pull out a real weapon (anything besides a meele weapon) to help the team, as it felt like there were 4 players in the team instead of 5 . As for that healing pistol from Lower Decks ... -- if it works as a healing device on the Dranuur colony shield generators , then maybe it has it's use as a healing device on a non-sci toon ... . It would have been nice to have something like that as a secondary weapon ... in 2017-2018 . (yes, I know about the nanite canisters, but those were apparently too difficult for some [all too many] to get back in the day)

18:09 "Miser's delight“ is Not a consumable. It just opens a text listing a large selection of rules of acquisition from 1-285 across 18 pages (back/next menu). No voice. Hilariously, you can equip it to the skill tray on your ship. Kinda jelly you have that voiced version though... 17:09 the sautéed Shijtake mushrooms can be fed to the black alert Tribble to make a white version with a better buff, which is probably worth the 1 Lobi if you already have the black version.

Ended up a few years ago buy x5 enterprise phase pistols for my capt and away team. Sadly the bridge officers kept using the 3rd ability and throwing the phaser on overload at enemies, then being unarmed for what ever the timeout was. Found out a way to solve the problem with the terran dagger device from one ov the more recent missions. (Though the mission is alittle long to run x4 times)

I don't know, having all four boffs throw all their weapons like grenades sounds kinda funny lol But yeah, the Terran knife would help with that. There's also the Confederation commbadge, it functions the same and it's also in the Lobi store, but getting four those isn't cheap.

AAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAH Reminds me of my experience with giving the Sompek electric guns to Boffs. they'll constantly spam the tertiary just because they can. At first you think there's combat, but no... the boff has a make noise button and will press it any time it's off cooldown. In combat this behavior is great though.

The T-88 Diagnostic Tool Kit is good for a Fed build (Another Lower Decks item). Giving a 15% Phaser buff for you levelling experience. The clicky is good too, buffing crit severity to you or ally players for 45secs.

Eh, I don't like that you can't re-engineer it. Risian kit is better becauseyiu can reroll it to KPerf, and it's cheaper.

@@Stu1701 The T-88 according to the wiki costs 200 Lobi. That's insanely expensive for a ground item. Even more so when you consider the Risian Kit could be acquired for free with Lohlnutz. Or if you're getting those out of season, get Lohlnuts for EC. A free resource. I'm quite against Cryptic putting out 200 Lobi ground equipment. They're extremely overpriced.

Those two replies nailed it. KPerf is king on the ground, and the Risian is about the only one that does x3. This kit would be fantastic if A.) you could reengineer it, B.) it was also capable of KPerf x3, and C.) it was 50 lobi. Lobi is arguably the most scarce commodity in the game, in that you only get it from lockboxes, or the yearly event. Given the cost of Mudd's bundles, it's rarely worth choosing the Lobi if available, given that 3 twenty key ring bundles on a sale would get you the same amount, the slim chance for a T6 ship, but also gives you 3 ultimate tech upgrades, Sometimes a non-Mudd's bundle gives you Lobi, but that's filler you're not buying the bundle for. Even ignoring the ships one might want that are locked behind lobi (and a number of them have meta traits/consoles), there are a ton of ground weapons, ship weapons, ship consoles, and if you're into them, costume unlocks before one even got to the kit, and its disadvantages make it a hard pass.

Ive gotten the shax cannon, the discovery rifle, the WoK phaser and the Lower Decks wide multi barreled phaser pistol, and though the Shax cannon has such a great melt-face feel to it i think if you only get one the discovery rifle is the best. I dont kill anything any faster with the other weapons than I do the discovery rifle and only the shax cannon kills as fast. But the Disco rifle is simply more efficient with its shooting and feel. Its Quicker getting its shot off and its very noticeable with the shax cannon that if you miss it sits there locked into that missed beam a few secs no matter how long you hold the trigger making you wait a bit to reshoot. Very irritating and not an issue with the Disco Rifle. As far as the WoK phaser goes its my favorite weapon overall and though it doesnt kill quite as fast it does kill fast enough and hes right about that red disintegration beam its awesome as hell. Love red melting some of those bastards I hate fighting. Just love that gun. So yeah Discovery rifle best buy overall and will not disappoint you with its kills just gotta shoot 3 times to get that sweet third shot that's a triple shot.

I jave the staff, khan pistol, gambling device and a TRB sniper rifle..........all are great ground weapons, the SR has a one kill hit even on elite.

Thank you for the adv antiproton beam weapon was wondering what that was and looking for it, however the BATD extractor is also a good one out of the lobi store its borg and its first skill has no cool down time but its weaker per hit however no cooldown time is pretty good for rapid fire.

While in the minority perhaps ... , but I still prefer the Boolian , as for me the Shax takes way too long to charge it's secondary blast . Sure , you can fire at a lower level, but it's not the same as a blast on full charge ... -- and the Boolian fires it's secondary blast faster then the Shax -- and for me that blast makes most things go away . So it's a matter of preference, but just so you know, the Shax has a play style that you have to get used to .

Qowat Milat sword is the only melee wep worth anything. That thing cuts as fast as the terran knife device. Which I just now realized should be equipped together.

No, the discovery rifle in the lobi store has a unique firing mode that is different from the standard ones you can get in episodes. this is what makes it so powerful.

Great vid Stu! I should start using the Disco rifle on Valdemar. I love ther Herald Staff, or as i call it the Big Boom Stick. I've used it on Chorog for each ground record i've set with him. blast attack is tremendous at wrecking grouped up mobs

@@Stu1701 I feel the need to point out the the charged blast... is actually the secondary of a Blast assault weapon. Blast Assault weapons suck in general since the PRIMARY also has a charge up, but putting the blast as a secondary on something else is pretty sweet.

I honestly adore the Section 31 Phaser Pistol. The primary fire is an Exploit attack, and it hits fairly hard at Mk XV.

my understanding is that this is a quirk of the way the Union rates work. VAs getting paid by the hour means that 5 minutes of reading something boring is a minor expense IF this is tacked on to doing VA for a mission.... Which IIRC he did.

Miser's Delight originally was just the 'text' version. It displayed the rule of acquisition instead of the VO. The fact that its a consumable now is laughable. But both are must-have for any Entrepreneur with the Lobes for Business.

It is not a consumable. I have one sitting in my inventory that is reusable, and there is no consumable tag or "consumed on use" on the listing in the store.

The most concerning thing are the 200 Lobi Ground Gear. The T-88, then the Medical Rifle. Now the Majalan Staff. I remember people trying to white knight those decisions by Cryptic that "They were a mistake, a bug." But these "mistakes" are never fixed and they keep doing this. I actually would have gotten the Medical Rifle for a funny gimmick, just like I did with the Zhat Vash Rifle on one of my Romulans doing a Zhat Vash theme. It's 50 Lobi. But I would not do that to the tune of 200 Lobi. That 200 Lobi can help towards a Lobi Ship or Lobi Space Equipment.

Do you have an opinion on the Zhat Vash Disruptor rifle? I was considering getting it but I can't really find anything on it, found a crap ton of info in the pistol but nothing for the rifle.

It's not a popular weapon. I don't own one, so I haven't tested on out. Based on its stats, it's decent (most ground weapon in the lobi store are at least that). Not the best, but certainly not the worst either, but the main reason to get it is for space barbie more than actual practicality.

I made the mistake of buyng the Mandatory Medical Treatment rifle. Did not like it for myself. Handed it off to my science healer for away missions. She runs straight at enemies to rifle butt and will occasionally use the AOE secondary fire for the team heal. Removed it from her quickly.

Yeah, BOF often choose the path of least benefit on the ground. It's frustrating when you give your Jem'Hadar and epic MK XV rifle, and he decides to engage in mele.

the best kit frames have KPerf, because that increases the damage of your kit modules. If you could reengineer the T-88 it'd be great, but as it is, it's it's way more expensive than it's worth. The Risian Kit Frame from the summer event is way better just on the merit that you can reengineer it.

you don't have to hold down the Butten on that Portable Phaser cannon. Also I gatta disagree about that Gambling Device. Sure if your all about Solo play "MAYBE" but here's the bottom line The IDIC Tribble is Superior. yes there is an argument to be made about the difference between a ZStore Item and a Lobi Item Most players that have lobi got it through the Lock boxes and Prolly bought keys from the store. Not only Does IDIC have a Consistent Buff it's team wide and once you have it you can keep getting it meaning if your a tac For example you can slap a IDIC T on a Sci and and Eng Boff and get all 3 Team wide Buff's as well as a 4th AND it stacks with the Rainbow Tribble and considering there are 5 members to a team be it Players or Boffs that combinations beats out the Device. and it's an Account wide unlock.

Yes. The one in the Lobi store has a totally unique firing mode. The ones you get from missions are just reskinned standard full-auto or sniper rifles. I think one is an pulse wave weapon, but thats standard too.

There are only a couple ways. The first, and only truly free way, is by completing the annual event campaign, and choosing the "1500" lobi reward. The other way is to open lock boxes (4-10 per box), which requires keys. Keys are sold in the Zen store, which costs money. You can buy keys, using in game ec on the exchange, but they are expensive, and it is a long hard grind.

I've always gotten good service out of the Section 31 Phaser Pistol as well. It has a somewhat insane 3 sec cooldown on its secondary mode aoe cone attack. I also have a certain fundness for Mariners 4 barrel Phaser Pistol. Not the best dps weapon out there. But that nice multi target attack good for mowing down trash packs. Plus it feels more thematic than lugging around the Shax Cannon.

Keys, Lobi ships, lohlunat favors (if thinking long-term), occasionally traits, etc. A billion can make you 10 billion if you’re doing it right. Probably need 40-50 million to really get going investing in exchange items

I think you're talking about Bio-Essence Transfer. It's a kit module that drops from the Infinity Lockboxes, you can find it on the Exchange.

They'd be helping the game a lot if they removed the worthless items from the stores and the item database in general helping take the load off the creaking engine. They can credit the accounts for items removed from inventories. I really don't like this predatory pricing initiative they've jumped on, for most of us there is a cost of living crisis atm caused by Covid lockdowns economic damage to supply chains, yet Cryptic continues to hike prices and hide the items people want in junk bundles ( Yes I'm looking at the recent T6 trilogy of crap ships bundled with the uniform most folk would have bought). When will Crypic learn they'll sell more just putting the item out there by itself than including usless crap no one wants in an overpriced bundle. On the Lobi Store any idea of the next sale date?
