I am doing the same thing right now. I dont like cots being heavier than average so I need a solid bed. I plan on running plywood under the bed to slide totes out the end and use a pole to support the extended end as a table for cooking eating etc. When done just slide it back in. In bad weather access totes from side inside. Cool.

I am originally from Australia and traveled on lots of really dusty roads, I found to stop dust you need to have a small opening at the front of the canopy, this then pressurized the inside of the canopy and stopped the dust that swirls at the back of the vehicle being sucked into the rear through any gaps.. the weather stripping and mat you installed will also help in that regard.

Great video 👍 That's an awesome cot 🤙 I have been through my fair share of cots and one of my complaints was how the legs were designed because I was typically utilizing cots in locations where that cross bar underneath was a hindrance to making it flush to a wall or whatever, so it causes you to take up unnecessary space in an awkward spot 😮💨. Each side has 3 pipes. You'd just have to hack some length from the middle pipe. It would take a few minutes b/c it is good quality metal. And you'd want to smooth it out with a rasp. And I assume he also cut the green canvas to make it a few inches shorter from head to foot. I own the discobed bunks. They're really well made. You can sleep directly on them, but a mattress pad does make it considerably more comfortable. I use a thin blow-up camp pad I got at Costco. The best thing would be to cut a 'memory foam mattress topper' to fit. Then no worries about your mattress getting a flat.

Great setup, thanks for sharing. I don't get why almost all truck toppers only offer sliding windows. I do realize awning type(Arctic Tern) windows are much more expensive. But everything is more expensive nowadays and paying more for better quality has always been the case. Just seems the awning windows would shed water better while open during heavy rain. The Moonlander is one of the few Toppers that offers awning type windows as a choice in a buildout. But they aren't cheap Toppers. Love how simple yet completely functional and probably less expensive your buildout is. Safe and happy travels Sir.

@JaceMcfetridge4 ай бұрын
Don't have a video on it, but the the cot has three pole sections that run the length of the cot. The middle pole sections are are wider and have no contour to them, where the end poles have a skinny section that fit inside of them. So you can cut off as much of the middle section as necessary to make it fit in your truck and all the poles will still fit together. I hope this helps!
