Love your videos! I am a 63 year old and have finished my whole life. I am glad you mention that the Crappies will die when released back into deep water. When you fillet those fish, you will see the blood released in their upper rib cage. That is the lethal damage that has happened to them. Keep up the great videos, love those Crappies!

Your message is spot on! Thank you for enlightening people on fish caught deep. It's important for people to understand along with catch and release.

I get crap for this, but I enjoyed crappie fishing a lot more than Walleye this year. Between ice, early spring and even all summer. Walleye left me frustrated. Thanks for talking about the 30ft pressure.

I hear ya! It's nice to actually catch fish when fishing lol. Tho even crappies have stumped me plenty of times. They can be an absolute blast to pattern. Thanks for watching!

Nice video dude. I just did the same thing. Caught 20 fish in 35 feet, 42 degree water. Anywhere from 10 to 16 inches. In do this 1 time every Fall. Makes you feel like a kid again.

No doubt! And that "little kid" feeling is exactly how I always describe it too! 👊

i'm 99% jig, minnow, on a float for fall crappie. Today i also looked for walters and found nothing. But did hit a school of crappie and put on a slab rap. Lots of hits and landed a dz or so in a short time. Was fun and something i haven't done before.

Enjoy the channel. Fish like bass and walleyes have specific size limits. Granted you were fishing deep and needed to keep the crappies you caught. But what about when the fish are returnable. What size would you say is too big to keep or too small to keep for crappie, perch, or bluegill/sunfish/rock bass?
@TargetWalleye2 жыл бұрын
Thanks much for watching and taking the time to comment! I always like the smaller side of the scale when keeping fish. I like letting those big fish go to get even bigger and keep the genetics in the lake. AND I actually prefer to eat smaller "chunks" of fish versus big thick fillets anyway. I literally butterfly the fillets off 18”+ walleyes so they're thinner lol. For me, I like keeping 10-11" crappies, 15-17" walleyes, and bluegills under 8”. And I rarely catch perch big enough around here to eat 🤣 so wouldn’t be a good source. Honestly, I would love to see some sort of a special slot in place to protect bigger panfish around here. Something along the lines of say 1 sunfish over 9″ per day - and 1 crappie over 13″ - would still allow a trophy to be kept for guys that don’t believe in replicas.

It's called a "FilletMaker" and man I LOVE it. Have been using it for probably 8-10 years now and it's amazing. I think they may have been bought by another company since then...believe it's now called a "CleanCut Station." You 110% won't regret buying one.

Have you ever fished from night into dawn ? or dusk into the night ?
@aljacobson95252 жыл бұрын
I see you are fishing low light. Do jigging raps still work in the dark?
@TargetWalleye2 жыл бұрын
They do, but not nearly as well for me. It's more of a "visual" bait versus "feel" as there's no rattles and not much vibration. Low light into dark I like to grab something with either more vibration, or rattles, or glow, or sometime all the above.

What size do I need fishing in swallows say 10-15 feet or less
@TargetWalleye2 жыл бұрын
The #3 size (3/16 oz) will still work in 10-15', but yit wouldn't be a bad idea to drop down to the smallest #2 size that weighs 1/8 oz.
