Agreed. The soles fall apart and you get holes in the cloth. I don't even wear them out in active settings like she does. Although they're everyday shoes, I pretty much only go out for school. The black fades pretty quickly too in my experiences.

converse either last forever, or two weeks. a month into wearing mine, when i hadn’t put them through literally anything except walking through school, the bottom split wide open and the grommets were falling off. then my friend has had hers for three years and gone on hikes through the desert with them, and they’re good as new

I’ve never understood the obsession with the kitchen sink being “clean”. It’s a sink. Water from the pipes still interacts with it when it’s draining. You still clean out rotten food in it. Your sponge still becomes stinky and gross because of bacteria. Just clean it after you’re done and you’re fine is how I see it.

In my experience converse don’t last super long before the heel starts separating. Often times you can get the repaired, but sometimes they’re too far gone :(

So I used to love converse. But I had a brand new pair. Literally wore them twice and the rubber by the sides of the toe started to fall off. I only walked in them. The other pair that I used to dance in lasted longer than those. I usually take shoe glue to repair them but sadly it didn’t work and I had to throw them out.

I did cuz when riding a horse, you need shoes that have a bit of a heal incase the horse spooks and you could fall off. (Also cuz your foot could fall too far into the stirrup and that would end in disaster).

You could honestly just skip right to putting it in the washer with stain remover, borax, and bleach so it saves you time and effort scrubbing them. I do that for my white shoes and they come out looking brand new every time. :)

When they’re wet you should cover them in corn starch. Then set out to dry. When they’re nice and dry get a brush and scrub off the excess powder. This makes them look nice and bright again. It’s a Mexican trick my mom taught me 😅😅

They don't last forever, but they do hold up surprisingly well compared to other types of shoes and are generally easier to clean without risk of mold and mildew. I don't wear them in winter or in wet weather if I can help it and I think that makes them last longer.

I put my cons in the washing machine once - after wearing them for 3 years - put them on when they dried fully - and the base popped open at the back ripping off half of the sole - i also used to work in a shoe store - never put your shoes in the washing machine - hand washing it fine just make sure the water is warm not boiling to avoid melting any glue

Definitely don’t last forever but they do last quite a while. A common think with my converse is that they begin to detach from the rubber parts. So it becomes detached from where the canvas meets the rubber tip and the sides. But worn out wise, I haven’t had any that have ripped canvas or lost a metal loop or anything. It’s just the detaching of the rubber and canvas parts.

Wash them with water at room temperature, rinse them as much as you can until you don’t see foam form then wrap them with wet white toilet paper when still wet and let them air dry but do not put them under the sunlight, the paper will turn yellow but your shoes will stay white

Put on some clorax and toothpaste scrub it really really good and let sit in the sun for 24 hours then rinse it with cold water untill all the toothpaste is gone and they'll shine

I have black and white, for black mine have a whole where the seaming is and they are very dirty, if u have a whole I reccomend sowing them, whipe them down, add new laces, and there hood to go! For white pressure wash the canvas part, whipe down the rubber, add new laces!
