Just moving into a house with this on every wall and ceiling. It's like living in a royal wedding cake. I am going to try this on the walls. It's so thick that I can hardly see the wallpaper seams at all

Hi - are you getting down to the lining paper there? Would you repeat the process to get down to plaster?
@spendtimesavemoneydiy5 жыл бұрын
Emily Fennell Sometimes you will be lucky and the backing paper will come off with the top layer. If it doesn't then you can simply soak the backing paper and scrape it off. Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

I've tried soaking it with water and Zinsser bin enymes, and leaving it overnight, I've tried steaming it. I've used the zinsser paper tiger. I've tried everything. The nasty paper is not coming off! It actually seems that the more I've wet the paper, the more it sticks! What can they have glued it with? The woodchip is on every wall in the house!

What ratio of washing up liquid to water would you recommend in the bottle?
@spendtimesavemoneydiy5 жыл бұрын
Kallum Cooper there is no exact ratio just a good squeeze of washing up liquid into a litre bottle of water. If watch my other video on stripping wallpaper I demonstrate putting the washing up liquid in to the bottle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGTLgK1oqJh0Z9k Thanks for watching and be sure to like, share and subscribe to help the channel grow 👍🏼

I've got this rotten stuff on the walls and ceiling of the hallway of my flat. It's like a layer of hardened plastic. Disgusting. I'm going to give this a try when I can summon up the nerve. Thanks for the instructions 👍

Could a Stanley knife be used for scoring instead of the tool you demonstrated?
@spendtimesavemoneydiy3 жыл бұрын
Yes a Stanley knife would work just as well but be careful not to score too deep and damage the plaster. Also since making the video I've now learned that warm soapy water works a bit better. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe 👍🏼

I bought a house with like 4 layers of wallpaper. What is my best bet here, man???
@spendtimesavemoneydiy5 жыл бұрын
+Bjarni J score, soak, soak again and scrape. Repeat 4 times and you will get there. However with that much to do maybe invest in a steamer but make sure you do not damage the plaster. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
