I read your comment many times and it finally clicked! You were asking me to show the back side of each model I am guessing? Yes I guess that would have been a good idea to add. To be honest they were all pretty dang good. I suggest trying it out for yourself so you can get a feel for it.

I know im biased, i have tried these out and the lack of fidelity is so evident. another problem is that it just looks like bland AI slop. Thankfully you did this on an FDM it covers up the fact that its a very soft model.

I thought I read that you can’t create new objects on makerworld with their tools “for commercial purposes “, ie: reselling digital files or even prints, has anyone addressed this?

This is absolutely crazy! Just tried it with some grimdark art off of google... nothing I plan to use,print, or sell. But damn!very impressive... BUT. It's nothing that could be printed right away. If anything it would be an excellent tool to make raw proto forms to sculpt from. Like skip the whole part of building up primitives and core shaping.. art to 3d some concepts and then load into brush or blender. And sculpt/refine from there... as a scultors tool this could be really powerful... as an end product solution... this is not there yet... and people need to understand that... this is a tool. Not a replacement for artists and engineers... will that keep people from trying to use it as such? No. But that would he alot of waisted time. As the consumer would easily be able to tell the difference.
@bambamprint4 күн бұрын
Totally agree with you. It can definitely give you a great base to start with but as far as matching an artist work, it isn't there yet.

The real big reveal is - Bambu Lab has been using your models to train AI without consent. That's why they insist on using their cloud, now it all makes sense

Cool but I want AI to update computers bios and firmware for old computers due to manufacturers abandoning them to push new computers and hardware! I could save a lot of e waste.

Make it. It's an untapped market and could be pretty lucrative.
@mostlymessingabout3 күн бұрын
have you heard of upgrades? or cloud computing?
@patrickbroadhead19823 күн бұрын
@mostlymessingabout have you heard of planned obsolescence? I have a computer that I built a good number of years ago that is fully capable of high-end 3d modeling and design and gaming. That apparently doesn't meet the system requirements for Windows 11. This is not because it cannot run Windows 11. It is because Microsoft has contracts for kickbacks from parts manufacturers for planned obsolescence of the components so that people need to buy new hardware, which means they need to buy new software .

still a long way off.. needs to use the texture maps as a displacement map and bake to the model though this can be done with zbrush.. but they are getting there. and as a 3d modeler.. tbh i see this as no threat. i cant wait for the day when all i have to do is just add a text prompt and get high detailed models.. this would bring the price of games down.. and costs of films. yes i may be out of a job.. but tbh the amount of backstabbing and competition in the industry is shocking.. and glad to leave it to AI :)
