This song was written to commemorate Leslie Cheung. So you may understand why this song has a very different style. And I always think the soul of Cantonese songs is the lyric. The lyric of this song is sharp and pessimistic, which feels like a sad and stressful life story. Thanks for choosing this great song. But I think the most dramatic video version is in DUO. Thanks for the fast reaction!!! Yea, Eason did it purposely to fit the lyric “Stood like a statue” at the beginning, he did have different emotion when performing this song in different stages. Eason is the greatest singer in 00’s from Hong Kong and he is the king of Canton-pop while the market is small in Hong Kong. As a Cantonese song, Fukua didn’t get much attention from Mainland China like his other Mandrain songs until he performed this on a Kpop fans domiciled awards stage and got so much praises from it. I’m glad that you enjoyed it and sure you will love Eason if you listen more to his songs, mostly classic with deep meanings in the lyrics. But unfortunately, there is not much high definition video back in old times 😅.
