@@howlinmadsmithy Unfortunately, the bank where he cashes his PRS money is right next door to Nando's, Maccy D's & Greggs & all that waddling sure makes him hungry. 'Oh no', he thought as he scoffed another Big Mac & wiped away the special sauce, 'I'm supposed to be anorexic. Dammit!' 😂

The amount of success Take That had was far more massive than East 17's. Having said that, I do like a few East 17 songs.

Tom Watkins was a bitter & nasty piece of work. The way he said "The girls going to the concert will be disappointed because the boys arent the young fresh guys they once were, they've aged." Yes, & so did the girls age with them Watkins. The guy sounded like a predator & kept focusing on Tony even showing pictures.

East 17 were legit back in the day. First few records slap. You could tell this would never work from the first 5 minutes. Too much ego. Tony absolutely loathes Brian and its honestly easy to see why. I loved Brian back in the day but he's been behaving like an idiot for decades now.

Just writing the songs is not enough if you have no one to perform them ,I understand the writer gets paid more ,but it was never gonna last if there is such an imbalance in the rewards. Imo T M should have at least made sure his band MATES were taken care of. Or am I nieve and mental? 😅

Just naive I’m afraid. The music industry doesn’t work like that. People see the money and want it all. So giving extra to band mates without them having writing credits won’t happen. Also I suspect that was part of Tony’s thinking when he didn’t want songs Brian had written on the come back album they were touting.
@paulspydar4320

I was in the industry for 30 yrs. I was not referring to % or prs or contract points etc. TM was ans is able to help out his band mates.

@Toxic-Ology Күн бұрын
@@paulspydar4320 you must have been surrounded by much nicer people than me in that case. Take you for their money and then take all of yours and make sure their name is everywhere it needs to be a neglect to credit you because you trust them to have all that taken care of on your behalf. And besides, when you’re young you trust people who are already in the industry. So chances of them being kind enough to give some of their share out of kindness or because it’s the right thing to do is an alien concept in my experience of the industry. Ironic, I’ve just remembered I’ve still got to chase up a label who had a number 1 in the 90’s for pretty much a cover version of something I wrote & produced back in 97 that’s knocking around now with a different artist name and me not even credited on it. Not to mention an older situation where licensing for a few of my tracks were sold to labels and put out on compilation CD’s in Australia that people I dealt with thought I wouldn’t find out about until the internet was a big thing. I could go on and it’s not just me. I know a few who all have similar experiences. I’d washed my hands with the industry yet still I have to be arsed chasing something so recent up. When I know it won’t be worth it anyway. So I’m just pleased you’ve had a better experience to be able to be naive and think TM would do the right thing. Because in my experience when it comes to money in music, people will not only take their share, and prevent you being around to control your own stuff, they’ll take what is yours as well and then some.

Dont get me wrong if Leah Betts didn't take ecstasy she would'nt of died (obvs) & i do not condone taking drugs, but she actually died of water intoxication, by drinking 7 litres of water in a 90 minute period which basically drowned her insides, but still if she hadn't taken the tablet in the first place she wouldn't of drank all that water 😔

For Tony to hide behind not giving the guys a proper chance to get their lives in order was his greed & his only. He could simply have gave the boys a million pounds between them at the very least. Or make sure they all have their own owned house from their success. Instead he gave them absolutely nothing and kept the whole lot mounting up to £25 million pounds! That’s When they first split, that’s why they all had to do roofing jobs again and move back In to his parents house with his child and woman. Then again less than 10 years later after making more multi millions. Still nothing. No matter what we think it’s all wrong how Tony dealt with his band mates. I’m not saying share it all as he was the songwriter but to give them zero is just ridiculous. ✌️
@maroof1
@maroof1 5 күн бұрын
I totally agree. If I had 25 mill I would give them 1 million each. I don't understand how he hasn't the heart to give them anything. Without Brian lead singer I think they would never been that good

band should of been called "ya know what i mean" some of the songs were catchy but basically a bunch of lucky lads who cant even talk properly let alone sing! the reason take that succeeded is because they were hard working lads who gave a shit and could sing and dance

Brian is a great singer, natural talent, but he dislikes the songs Tony wrote. Anyway, Tony is loaded because he's the writer and that's how the industry works in terms of continued royalties. £97,000 per year from Stay Another Day alone is not an untidy sum.
