I was paying close attention to the Filipinos reporter, but ended up non the wiser, because I am completely lost through her rambling. Could this be another destraction from Jr Macos's own political turmoil with his other rivalry Duterte's family? The latter makes more sense than the "malign" influence as claimed. Unfortunately, this particular host has never been provened to asking tough question.

@@Russellviewswhen you initiate a trade war, the main objective is to demolish the growth of the opponent. China recorded positive gdp growth in those trade war years. There is impact for sure but not enough to break them In that regard, he lost the war because main objective is not achieved Also, US lost jobs. China counter tariffed their agriculture industry and trump had to issue a 12bn assistance package You can google to check

Tariffs for dummies. USA is worlds largest consumer, larger than 2nd place Europe by 2X.On the world stage, if you are not selling to USA, you are not doing well. USA can buy from ANY nation. Other nations MUST sell to USA, as we are worlds ONLY largest consumer. WHen US raises tariffs, nations selling to us MUST sell cheaper, or we will buy from another nation. . If our tariffs seem too high, other nations do NOT have another largest consumer to sell to. get it?????
@NoFrillz-G4 сағат бұрын
The only caveat is the American consumers base is underwater. The entire US govt is underwater and relies on enormous debt leveraging just to live another day. The Americans are living on a maxed out credit card. You start adding a tariff on their products won’t ignore the fact that Americans are paying for their product with IOUs. American by large are broke ass, fatherless and more recently refusing to get their edumacation. I mean I would too if I had to learn same sex relationships are great and how great the nation is. God bless America.

it took a google search to show that the American import volume is NOT larger than Europe by 2x. In fact, Germany alone already had half the import volume of the states www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/imports/country-comparison/

On the pretext protecting the manufacturers or rather the economy, he threatened to impose high tariff on cheap imported consumer goods. If he is successful, the consumers must ask where did the money go? Consumers shouldn't be fooled by such rhetoric. Modern politicians are very talented, just have to be aware.

Then Singapore should work with the Trump administration and lower tariff with Singapore. Why is Singapore interest in China. Are our politicians so stupid. I'd rather have Trump in charge because the alternative is WW3. And that will destroy every economy in the world. We've had enough of inflation! Work for your citizens! If he can be America first, Singapore can be Singaporeans first too. Make deals with him. Buy American oil! Bring prices down.

To address *Chinese 🇨🇳 unfair trade practices* and trade imbalances, President Trump is mandated to impose at least 60% tariffs on all Chinese products. - This is applicable for those that come directly from China or go through sea ports funded by China. - In addition, Mr. Trump will force China to honor its signature for the Phase-1 agreement.
