Awesome railroad scenery, my kind of scenery....Thanks!

Watching this and other videos, this appears to be a northbound run from the end of the usable track (north of Wood, according to other posts) and up to Robertsdale. The restoration work is impressive and greatly appreciated; I was involved in a bit of something similar trying to bring back unusued trackage (now sadly ripped up by NY state) on the Catskill Mountain Railroad in Kingston, still a very worthwile trip to take. Let me add that I'm also impressed by the amount of track still on the ground and the clearing that was done even on the out-of-service side of the ROW. Thank you for the cool video, Mr. Arbitrary! -- I would be interested to know if the hoppers nbext to the station were left there from the original abandonment or brought down as part of the new resurrection.

The 3 hoppers were trucked in.

@@parails , Thank you! I hope I live long enough to ride the full length of the line.

How fun ! Would love to see the original trackage restored, and similar to Cass Scenic RR, even offer freight service.

Are there any plans to restore the railroad line for steam excursions?

They are doing it! See the many videos here.

Wow looks like a lot of trackage. How many miles?

A little over 1.

Amazing to see. Remember that this trackage had been out of service since 1956--66 years ago. It had been covered with brush and trees--66 years of unchecked growth. Much of this clearing of the ROW was done by volunteers, part of the Friends of the East Broad Top. Send them money so they can do more!! Visit their web site to contribute.

Is this the mainline to Rockhill? Are they eventually going to meet in the middle so to speak and restore the line between Rockhill and Robertsdale? That would be a pretty long ride. Are the two tunnels repairable?

"Are the two tunnels repairable?" Well, given enough money, almost anything is "repairable". Both tunnels have had significant rockfalls, but are not completely blocked. @@robkrasinski6217
