Houses are going for 500,000 or more in this neighborhood. The majority of residents on my street are working class or retired homeowners and I can count on one hand how many times police have had to come to my street. There are definitely problems in the area but I'm not sure if it belongs on Oaklands worst hoods list . Maybe a bit deeper east and some spots in west Oakland, but overall Oakland is not the Oakland it used to be. The crime in Oakland is very block by block vs it being whole neighborhoods and a lot of these blocks were bought up by investment companies some years back and are now being sold away to the highest bidders. When I moved here 9 years ago the median homes were going for 100-150, 000.
