Barrow wights were the spirits that Frodo, Merry, Sam, and Pippin ran into in the barrows outside of the Old Forest, the ones Tom Bombadil rescued them from in the books. I believe they're the spirits of old lords, but I'm not sure.

Barrow wight are wraiths that were based on Norse mythology like the Draugr in Tolkien's series. Barrow being burial and wight for the living or creature, the Witch king of Angmar using his witch craft resurrected the spirits of dead orcs, men, and others to keep the Dunedain from reestablishing their lost kingdom. Many barrow wights were found in the northern shire and the old forest of which Frodo and company encountered some and were trapped in the barrow downs and almost were killed by the creatures but were fended off by Tom Bombadil and him then giving them shelter in his Mansion. Not to different from Nazgul barrow wights could cast spells and fought as wraiths whenever summoned by their Nazgul masters and the Witch king himself.

Wainwright is another author of the Lord of the Rings an add on for the general audience of the Lord of the rings universe proceeding J.R.R Tolkien. The creature is most certainly called barrow wight or a type of wraith such as the nazgul with Tolkiens own twist on what a wraith is. You can look it up just go to Wikipedia :D

Why gondor is not here: they lost their army defending the west. They made a desperate stand as the elves and arnorians simply stood there, outside the eastern half of the city. The gondorians all died, knowing they would get no help, despite it simply standing outside the city. After the last gondorians died, the elves and arnorians finally marched into the city.

Rohan and gondorian remnants joined with ARNOR and the elves to push out the mordor forces, who had infighting in the form of a rebellion in harad, but then the elves and ARNOR fought a war, which resulted in the sacking of rivendale, and both receiving no more help form gondor and ARNOR.

I love the cinematic camera angles over your explanation. It reminds me of one of those old History Channel documentaries where they'd go in depth into some old battle, and reuse the same couple shots of re-enactors marching and standing in formation. Also this battle can make sense, maybe this is from the period when Arnor and Gondor were one kingdom (I'm not that familiar with the lore, but I'm pretty sure that's a thing...)

I think the player of Isengard was thinking "Yay only melee infantry so I can overhelm them" but when the defenders had only 2 bridges, 1 wall to protect and pikemen this seem more like a dumb move and like you said "just 2 units of crossbowmen and it's game over"

Well that make more of sense with what you said (even if bringing atleast one archer unit is always better). Also you had one of the best attacking position and you attacked the last so it's normal to get more kills since you mostly faced depleted units (and more than Mordor since they get butchered by elves, I don't know what he was trying to do with the full charge) . But I have to admit even if I was sceptic with your waves attacks you made at the end you almost win so bravo and well played !

Wow! The attackers picked suboptimal builds, did not pursue very sound tactics, the defenders choke-pointed them to death excellently, set up fantastic defenses and archer fire, completely wiped out Morder very early on, and still BARELY won the battle. The fact that the defenders took it is nothing short of a miracle-they must have been SEVERELY outmatched!

To be honest, Isengard did pretty good job. He did not taken the archers because he thought that he will attack the walls (that explains the amount of bersekers units). Sadly, he was on the wrong side and he was stopped on bridge choke point. He tried also to extend attack by going from the walls. His only mistake was not helping mordor dealing with arnor cavalry. Sorry for english btw

The Barrow Wights come from the 1st book of the Lord of the Rings. They are always left out of any movie along with Tom Bombadil in the Old Forest next to the Brandywine river. In the movie once they escaped the dark riders and made it to the ferry on the Brandywine, the wraiths could not cross the water so they had to go around to the Brandywine bridge. The hobbits had to then travel through the Old Forest to avoid the other wraiths on the road. Once through the Old Forest they encountered the Barrow Wights in the Downs. That is where the other hobbits find their weapons just before they get into Bree...

barrow-wights, along with Nazg-Hai, berserkers and a couple other units, are one of the few who have two hitpoints, making them excellent troops. Their lack of a shield makes them vulnerable to arrow-fire though.

Mordor attacked to early but did a good job. Gundabad did a really great job, using there Siege Towers as a shield and attacking on multiple spots. But Isengard did almost everything wrong. They attacked in so little waves that the defenders could reform after every attack. They didnt attack the two bridges at the same time. Also they attacked on the wall against the arrow towers and they didnt helped Mordor by killing Arnors Cav with there Wargs. They just let them kill Mordors Archers and Catapult.... All Attackers should have bring Javelin Units for the Gates. The Defenders instead did such an amazing job, really awesome.
