Been through that tunnel many times on my way to Snowshoe. The tunnel that gives me concern is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. I'm not a fan of massive amounts of water being over my head! lol

Yes that one is super rough

My son and I made a trip to Bastian VA. last October and one of our favorite parts of the trip was going through that tunnel.

Been through there many, many times. Also had the privilege of going inside where all the sizemagraph equipment is. Pretty awesome.

I feel the same about tunnels. When I was a kid I did not like the 20 mile Chesapeake Bay tunnel ride under the water. 😵💫

We called it the bridge tunnel bridge and it was scary 😢

You would need to put me to sleep to cross the Chesapeake Bay bridge and tunnel.

That one was a terror for me too

Reminds me of the East River tunnel in NYC. It's the Queens Midtown Tunnel that runs under the East River between Manhattan and Queens. The toll is only $11.00 (including tax and a bail bond if you get caught speeding)😂

I'm old enough to remember getting off I-77 and going over the mountain on US52 before the tunnel was built. Ugh... painful.

Yes I don’t envy that experience

Been through that one and the one just down the road a bit, I forget the name, a good number of times. It's a bit odd seeing it through someone else's windshield. We run that road going to Winston-Salem, NC to visit my sister-in-law for the 4th of July week. Last year we went in late October, as well, for our niece's wedding. It was a very colorful drive! Thanks for the video!

Yes the other tunnel is Big Walker. Thank you.

I went through that tunnel a lot over the last forty years going back and forth to Beckley West Va. The big Walker Mountain Tunnel also over the years. I remember leaving Beckley one day there was almost a foot of snow on I-77. It was closed to everything except four wheel drives and vehicles with chains. I had to get in the median to get around tractor and trailers that were jack-knifed on the Interstate but when I came out the south end of Big Walker Tunnel it was like some one had flipped a switch there was not a drop of snow and it was only lightly raining.

Cool! I've been through several, if not all, of the tunnels on the PA Turnpike. New York City has 4 tunnels that go under rivers, and I've been through one of those. I love tunnels and bridges.

I am fascinated by them too

NYC has lots of trains that run through underground tunnels. It's called the subway.
@MillerMeteor746 ай бұрын
@@notme123 I was referring to vehicular tunnels, not the subway.

I used to go through that tunnel all the time going to see my grandparents in Bluefield. And you’re correct that it can be sunny on the Virginia side and then you go into the West Virginia side and it’s snowing

I've been through the East River tunnel a few times. There is a tunnel-like that in Baltimore, MD called the Harbor Tunnel it runs underwater. If it ever busted water could flood it out with people in it. I never liked that tunnel at all. Many thumbs up to your video. Btw, Didn't they use to call this the Big Walker Tunnel?

AH! You are on I-77 on the way to West Virginia. WOW! It is good to see some of my home state through your video. The tunnel you are in posed some major problems when it was built. Thank you for sharing. How is your newest little bundle, Rianna? Kennedy???

They are both great, Melody and I have been struggling the last couple of weeks with some sort of sinus infection/bronchitis. I was going to email you to thank you for the wonderful Easter gifts. I was finally healthy enough to go to the post office. Kennedy has worn out the activity book, she was drawing and coloring with it all day yesterday. Thanks for being so sweet and thoughtful.

@@realappalachia You are very welcome Shane. I am so sorry that you and Melody have been under the weather. I have a good sinus infection in the fall and spring. I keep waiting to wake up one morning and have that sinus infection. The important thing is to take care of yourselves. I feel like we are family although we have never met. It is like I have known both of you for years. I am glad that Kennedy enjoyed the activity. Please take care.
