Yes my Criniodendron hoookerianum is in the North facing front garden with added leaf mould. B

I was so happy to hear a mention of the roe "Jubilee Celebration" which I have in my garden. I came very near to tossing it out because it had been pouting for years and eventually appeared to have died. Suddenly it started furiously demonstrating vigor and has been putting out buds that have actually bloomed! It still hasn't acquired the fabulous scent for which it is famous. But I live in hope now... Thanks for the glimmer. Very encouraging!☺

Why do you advise growing a somewhat tender plant like crinodendron on a north facing wall rather than a south facing wall where sadly, mine died?
