Here in the UK, the audible warnings are the drivers responsibility. however they are operated by a foot pedal for on/off and the tone change is made by pressing the horn button. Both hands remain on the wheel and both eyes on the road ahead.

@centralnewyorkresponses78874 жыл бұрын
Colin Beirne inside Village limits. DeWitt would’ve been farther out and Minoa can’t be taken out of district unless requested by IC or by automatic mutual aid. Since this was an electrical fire, station one handled. If they found an active fire station 2 would’ve been activated. If they needed more units after that they would’ve taken an engine from DeWitt and an engine from Minoa.

What does it mean when they say “first due”?
@centralnewyorkresponses78874 жыл бұрын
Ethan Carr first due engine means first truck dispatched to the scene and not by request to another district for 2nd due or a different part of their district. There’s 2 stations in this department. Each has their own area of the village of East Syracuse to cover. Since this was in station 1’s district, they got the trucks from that station as first due. Not going to the other stations area. If they had to go to station 2’s area, they would’ve been second due to that call. It’s how it is with the district. Each is different. Station one first due, station 2 second due B/C of the call. Now individual units can be the same way if it’s only station one. If it’s only station one engine 1 or engine 3 would be first due, truck 1 second due, and Rescue 1 third due. That’s if they only needed units from one station and not both.

Was great driving, but comparing to other videos online, right side should be in control of everything BUT driving, let Driver concentrate on getting to where he needs to be, not honking horn and changing siren?
@josephbennett34824 жыл бұрын
Officer can do the horn operations and sirens on some rigs but it's not like that in every department only the chauffeur is able to operate the siren panel since it's where they are, and it actually should be that way because the chauffeur is the one that knows when he or she needs it they use the siren to their advantage often times the first officer is operating the siren and horn a bit to much and the chauffeur isn't able to hear the radio traffic for instructions from the Incident Command or dispatcher. Also the first officer is giving instructions to the location of the scene and traffic advisories and when it's a structure fire they are mapping the location of the hydrants or water reservoir for tanker operations if needed , the officer always has to be in communication with the chauffeur plus the IC and dispatch.

stupid question how dose the q work is it foot controlled and who controls it?
@AustinKDG8 жыл бұрын
the q siren is traditionally controlled via a foot pedal, sometimes installed both on the driver and officer side of the rig. The airhorns for this rig are controlled via the horn button on the steering wheel (Watch the video) and this means the q is probably operated by the driver.
@LSUFaithful78 жыл бұрын
Depends on the rig, the chauffeur will always have a pedal by default. In some rigs, there is also a pedal on the Captain side.
