My congratulations to the architect(s) who designed this highway. These ribbons of concrete meander through the canyon without distracting from natural beauty all around you.thank you for taking us on this incredible journey.

Thanks for letting me ride shotgun. It's so nice to see my old stomping grounds. I-70 sure has deteriorated since the last time I drove through the canyon about 35 years ago. It was even more scenic before they put it through the canyon.

Beautiful mountains and river I wouldn't have seen without riding shotgun with you. Thank you, I loved it

Building an interstate highway through a canyon. Wow! It is easy to see why it took so long to complete this section of I-70, yet it was well worth the wait. Well worth the engineering awards the road received, too! Thank you for sharing this drive. I imagine (more each day) that this is the only way I'll ever see Glenwood Canyon. P.S. I love your drive from Syracuse, New York, down to Atlanta, Georgia. It's been nearly 20 years since I've ridden on I-81. I've never been on I-77, and it's been more than 20 years since I've been on I-85 going into Atlanta, although I did see I-85 from the Atlanta train station about five years ago. LOL. Keep 'em rolling, Mountain Man! You're showing me parts of this country I'd never be able to see, otherwise. Thank you.

Great video. I have always been driving when going through the canyon so it was nice to ride shotgun this time. Many years ago we hiked up to Hanging Lake, it was quite a sight.

Just glorious! Have driven I-70 a number of times. My brother-in-law is a Boulder native and resident. He recently retired after 34yrs as a cellist with the Denver Symphony and my sister was the harp faculty at the University of Denver, first call union harpist and also played with the Denver Symphony. They are 70 and still ski the mountains out there. I visited them at the beginning of June this last summer. They drove me all over sight-seeing, Denver Art Museum, Golden and all the high mountain roads and passes. I love Colorado and have been fortunate to have visited with my parents since I was 7, especially getting to actually ride a horse in the mountains. Have gone back over the years with my family and we also rode horses in the Estes Park area when they were young. I have had several ski trips out to Winter Park, Vail and Aspen. It was a luxury to "ride" I-70 with you, so relaxing.......... Thanks!

True, but the Interstate seems in need of repair.

I’m talking 35 years ago on the two lane. I’m sure it does need some work by now.

Just saw the path we rode bikes on. Takes you along the river, under the highway. People if you ever vacation in Glenwood, rent a bike and have a great time along the river. Trust me it’s the best!

Never knew such a highway existed in the USA (elevated west bound)! This was one of the best videos with you, viewing it on my 23 inch all in one monitor. It was almost like sitting there next to you and enjoying the beautiful Colorado scenery.

I used to drive to Grand Junction from Minnesota, pulling a gooseneck stock trailer with horses. That was before they built the new highway and the tunnel. I did it a number of times, then, i started to drive down and take the southern route over Monarch Pass. It seemed like a better route, but longer.
