Cool bike. Best looking mini bike from Honda. I wish they had more colors. I learned on a CT70 when I was about 8 years old. I like that body style. Reminds me of my childhood.

Yeh that’s exactly what Honda is banking on bringing this back - grown ups wanting that nostalgia factor.

Those are definitely some of the slick triples on any minimoto!

Great video, thanks for posting it... you also confirmed that the blue connector for the accessories is present inside of the headlight bucket, much appreciated.

The Monkey rearsets really clean up the look of the bike.

Agreed, Steady Garage did it first.

Hello friend, have you considered mounting a windshield and a bellypan fairing for mitigating wind resistance?
@eastcoastish19 күн бұрын
We’ll see, any windshield that will be effective will be pretty big and goofy.
@bennythomsen597419 күн бұрын
@ haha yes … i have mounted a windshield similar to this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/momvXmCAj9ysqZofeature=shared And yes, it looks really 🙃 goofy… but it quite effective.

Hello my Honda Mini Bike brother, did the Shift lever fit just by mounting it or did you have to hassle with it or make any mods to make it fit? I bought a lever for a Monkey Z125 a year ago but it was way too short to be used on my Dax.
@eastcoastish20 күн бұрын
Direct bolt on and no hassle but thats because I’m running Monkey rearsets. The stock Dax rearsets are about an inch or two more forward.

@@eastcoastish Ah thank you, so it won’t fit for my Dax… too bad cos it looks awesome and I never use the heel anyway- I use only toe up/down

Have you ever installed the manual clutch kit
@eastcoastish20 күн бұрын
I’ll either leave this bike semi-auto, or just throw a Grom/Monkey engine in it.

I just noticed that the US Dax tail light and turnlights are different than what we have in all other countries.. the US taillight version is not so Retro as ours in Europe.
@eastcoastish18 күн бұрын
The US version is pretty ugly. I’ve already replaced the turn signals - I’m waiting for companies to come out with full light replacements - MNNTHBX is working on one.

Do you just keep the stock triples in case you sell the bike?
@eastcoastish20 күн бұрын
I usually keep parts but just because I might need it for some future project; if I sell the bike I’d probably sell it with the mods…

@eastcoastish makes sense.

Such a beautiful professional build! Still most looking forward to the mods that will help the rest of us through like front sprocket change for more top end and seat. I absolutely hate the seat and find it quite painful. Looking forward to swapping mine out. 🤙🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Thanks man. Definitely replacing the seat.

When you removed the ignition, you said, “… pull out the two Philips Screws…”. For those who may not know, Honda for years has used JIS (Japaneses Industrial Standard) cross-head screws. Using JIS screwdrivers and screw bits will prevent “cam out” thereby causing less to no damage of the screw heads. 🧰🔧🪛😎
@eastcoastish20 күн бұрын
Absolutely right, although I really only bother using a JIS driver if it's a screw that I expect to have a challenge with; standard Phillips works fine in most cases.

@ Understand expecting a challenge with a carbon steel screw ‘fused’ to the threads of a tapped hole in aluminum. On removing the case cover screws on a 1974 Honda CT-90, I had to used a 4-lb. heavy hammer with a Vessel brand JIS impact type screwdriver to break them loose. The screw heads were salvageable by a bit of jeweler file work and spinning them up to polish with Scotchbrite. I’ve also found that JIS screwdrivers and screw bits work really well on stubborn Philips Head cross-head screws.
