After Angie says about going to see a priest, is she laughing, presumably cos Den’s fallen for her lie, or crying, or a combination of both, to keep up the pretence. Then when she says she can’t say the words, it it cos she’s unable to pronounce the correct term for her diagnosis, or just too upsetting? Would she have gone ahead with the deception even if Den hadn’t dropped his bombshell? One hell of a lie, Angie must have devised it for some time, not the kind of thing you make up on the spot, she’d have to fake the symptoms etc. This is my absolute favourite episode ever, don’t think any of the other characters of the era could have pulled such a demanding two hander off, though they got their turn in later years. After this came Venice and Christmas Day! I liked Angie’s apology in their later two hander - I shouldn’t have done/said it, it was wicked, but I did and I paid. As a matter of fact it happened, part of me died too.
