He asked to leave in 89…and was axed in 05 for webcam scandal, he was meant to stay on past 2006 I think but would of been great as Nigel Harman probably wouldn’t have quit

Plus the poor writing didn't help though not as bad now as it looks like the entire show is going to be axed. Which is hardly surprising when you think about it (Dot Cotton).

It is pretty much. I think all that's missing was when Den beat up that older guy Vickie was seeing. Den is overrated as far as being hard goes, nostalgia makes people believe Den was harder than he ever really was. He didn't have many fights & the ones he did half were either against weak characters or else he would do sly little sneak attacks. Den was more brains than brawn. The show never allowed Dennis to have an actual fight with Den because they knew it's obvious Dennis would destroy him.

@Carl Rees Exactly, for such an iconic hardmen, Den is pretty average. Same with Johnny, I've seen both these guys in people's top 10 hardmen before even though they haven't done a lot physically.

There were both actually. Turkish and aisan characters too. Occasionally they would speak in their native language too. Watch a couple of early episodes to see. So 'it be make' in the 80s. 😅😅
