@zainabkhalid10310 ай бұрын
George doesn’t represent every black character
@bigbailey9810 ай бұрын
@@zainabkhalid103 I didn't say that he does. I really like Colin Salmon and his character George has been a great addition to the show. Salmon has been one of my favourite actors since he starred in Pierce Brosnan's Bond films in the late 90's. However, my point is that I can't think of a black character in any soap that hasn't been involved in a woke storyline (the Bailey's in Corrie, Ethan in Emmerdale, Patrick and Keegan in EastEnders, to name just a few). It's always a storyline where said characters are a "victim of racist abuse". It's just ridiculous. I actually find it insulting to black actors, it feels like the writers think that they can't be anything other than victims. Bottom line, they're only fictional soap operas so it doesn't really matter, but I personally think the level of race storylines over the last few years is tedious and cringy. It's likely because we live in a society where it's become trendy to be a victim who throws buzzwords like racism and bigotry around. The writers are just trying to portray society as something that it really isn't.
