Sharon truly was the love of Grant's life. You can see how happy he was at this point. Really annoying that the writers ruined what they had just for the sake of OTT family drama

@shanefolan3 жыл бұрын
No, the writers didn't ruin it; Grant was always troubled,self-destructive and a narcissist. His character was always going to mess up and it wasn't ott drama-it's what usually happens with men like Grant. I have known men like grant and it's true that they often are so volatile and hot heated that they can't maintain relationships because they are the classic man child. My way or no way mentality. My own brother is exactly like grant and although charming, attractive and can attract women the cruel irony is he cannot seem to hold on to them and is single approaching middle age. Men like that and grant are very difficult to be around full time and are quite toxic. The alpha male and toxic masculinity thing becomes too exhausting after a while for most women.
@shanefolan3 жыл бұрын
@@PeterShieldsukcatstripey No women could or would ever cut it for grant though, not even sharon. Sharon will go down as his true love only because she was his first love but remove the rose tinted glasses. He bullied, humiliated and tormented her for years just like he did to tiffany. Neither marriage was romeo and juliet.

"If you were any slower, Grant, you'd work for British Rail". These were the kind of killer quips EastEnders were full of back in the day. For all its accusations of being relentlessly dreary, it was never without humour. That died when the show died just around 2000, though it was slowing down in quality considerably by the late 90s. Too many people leaving for a start., though I do feel Stench misses the point a bit. After all, the show was never about just one Fowler-ALL the people that started the show, and then the new faces that popped for the rest of the 80s and early 90s were important, but the forever changing hands on the script, casting and producing front had a nasty habit of ruining them and batting away the characters, almost always with duty. Utterly stupid, puerile, embarrassing, patronising and truly unrealistic that characters need to DIE just cos they're not in the show any more-and usually the awful decision of them wanting to axe cast members and not decisions by them to leave, but no matter. Anyone has a right to leave. And no way would people die in droves in such a small area of London that they do in this. If the case, we'd all be able to move about a London a lot quicker without having to bump in to every arsehole in a 5ft stretch!

100% it got utterly ridiculous grant shagging around with tiffs mum, the di marcos were good for a short while and added a rivalry with grant but it was certainly becoming daft. Id say after dan sullivan and steve owen left it was utter tripe the saskia thing was good and you had some interesting love triangles with mel lisa who shot phil phil vs dan etc but genrally it was sliding towards madness. You had a few interesting characters after, dennis for example who feuded with phil but he was part of a ridiculous storyline in the end. When grant came back for get johnny week he literally dialled in a performace it wasnt the same. For me it died completely in 2002.

Sharon's first marriage to first husband: Grant Mitchell. Also Grant's first marriage to first wife: Sharon Watts. But by 1995 they're divorced. Sharon goes on to marry Dennis Rickman in 2005, then Phil Mitchell in 2014 (whom she also had an affair with during her marriage to Grant) & finally a brief sham marriage to Ian Beale in 2020. While Grant goes on to marry Tiffany Raymond in 1996 & Carla Mitchell in 2003 - off-screen who was Grant's Brazilian third spouse. So Sharon has been married to 4 different men in total while Grant has had 3 wives in total.

@@shanefolan lol 😆 I once had a mate in school who claimed they remembered their christening at two weeks old lol 😆
@shanefolan3 жыл бұрын
@@vaimende I studied it at university. What it actually is is that people see photos and hear stories of the events after they happened when they are young enough to form memories and then believe they actually remember it when its not possible. It's like asking a kid at 9 months for their opinion on something if you get me, the process isn't quite there yet where they can manage that yet which just makes me cringe when people say they recall stuff at a young age. Eastenders even did it when courtney told grant in 2005/06 she remembered tiffany when tiffany died when courtney was 1. Such ridiculous writing. My next door neighbour tried to tell me he remembered an event when he was 1 years old, my neighbour is now in his 70s but I explained to him it was much more probable he had heard about the event so many times after from family and that it had become a sort of false memory. It dawned on him then that he actually didnt really remember it and that was more plausible. His "memory" of it was actually more that he had held on to the recounts so much so that because he knew he was present in the recounted story he mistakenly believed they were his own memories. The mind is a very strange place at times. It sort of is like placebo whereby in studies participants are given drugs or booze and they get high of affected when its revealed after they were drinking alcahol free drinks or chalk for the drugs.
@vaimende3 жыл бұрын
@@shanefolan lol 😆 I have to say my earliest known memory is when I was 2 years old. Its more little things like falling down the stairs and crying and constantly wanting my bottle lol. So little things I can remember like that but I have dyspraxia and we tend to have good long term and random memories yet our short term memory is awful. From what I remember about Courtney is that sue said sje vaguely remembered her mum.tiffany and it was literally one or two things and she was nearly 2 when Tiffany died as Tiffany died new years day 1999 and Courtney was only a.month off her 2nd birthday. I find it funny there are people who literally have no memories of their childhood but many of those people I belive are just trying to block their past out. I agree about what you say tho.

Better than those dopey pastel long sleeve shirts he wore around the late 90s. He was supposed to be 35 but dressed as if he was 65 in clarkson jeans and clumpy shoes. Beppe gianni and steve owen were far sharper dressers even back in the day. What used to crack me up was when he wheeled out a suit for a “posh meal” with sharon or tiff if he was trying to patch things up .
