Barbara Windsor hated this storyline as she was the exact opposite to Peggy and never would have been prejudiced against a person who was hiv positive.

I remember reading an interview with her about this deapite her own personal opinions she still played it so well because sadly that's how many people behaved towards people with AIDS and HIV they were pariah's but at least give Peggy credit she clearly felt bad and awful over the things she said to him and they made amends it takes a big person to actually go to someone you've done wrong to and apologise

This was about the same time Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer. It took the narcissism of a personal tragedy to wake Peggy up and identify with a person she not long ago made to feel like crap over something that wasn’t his fault.

Years later when Mark has baby Louise and Peggy and Pauline are fighting, Pauline insults Peggy's kids and Peggy insults hers. Louise doesn't remember Mark was her dad. She was too young. Mark was a really good guy. He dealt with it so well. Peggy was dealt her own hand and sought advice from Mark. Saw her mistake

She was big enough to insult and slander him in a pub full of friends and strangers, but when it comes to apologizing, not big enough to do the same. She should have made a public apology and stood in her bar and told everyone how wrong she was. Horrible little woman. At least she apologized which I suppose is the main thing.

This is a great scene BUT it gets undone in 2002 when Peggy once again attacks Mark for having HIV

That's probably because he was first diagnosed with it in 1991 and eventually died of it off screen in 2004, so it would take forever to show the whole thing. Same thing with Peggy's cancer issues too. First go it in 1996 then cleared from it, then thought she had it again in 1999 but I believe that was a false alarm (,correct me if I'm wrong), and then she got it again in 2016 and took her own life so that she wouldn't suffer from it.

She sort of proved that in the future when she tried using Mark's HIV against him in the custody battle for Louise. Not that Mark was right to keep Phil's child from him but even so.

She was sorry but only because she got sick and realised how cruel she'd been. She used it to try and get Louise as a desperate ploy because Lisa was keeping Louise from Phil. Don't think she was still prejudiced. Peggy and Mark had an up and down relationship. When he left they were on good terms. He and Phil never got on, he and Grant did

From his ex wife Jill who died from it. The first actor who played Mark sadly died and at that time the character was quite rebellious, even horrible in a way. This Mark came back grown up and kinder, said to be from his diagnosis changing him
