1995 was probably the dullest year of the 90s for Eastenders. David almost singlehandedly kept the show somewhat interesting that year.

1995 was awful. Compared to the great 1994 which had bumper storylines. Also the Annie Lennox rendition of Whiter Shade Of Pale was blasting out in the Vic throughout much of the year 1995, the original by Procol Harum was infinitely better.

EE was definitely beaten by a rejuvenated Emmerdale that year. Yes David was easily the years MVP.

@@tomhiggins6542 1995 was also EE 10th anniversary. David Wicks dominated 1985 similar to how Den Watts did in 1985.

@@Uksoapfan yes that episode with Den and Michelle by the canal when Roly stepped out of Dens car. God yes Corrie & Emmerdale was blown out of the water here, couldn't get a look in.

David was actually one of the most interesting characters around at that point he just kept winding everyone up it was funny and even Ricky was somewhat interesting back in the day aswell.

Ricky was fine tbh, probably helped the show was better written and he often worked with strong characters. The first 10 yrs most of the characters, even lesser ones was watchable. Couple of duds through the later 90s, fans was indifferent to The Hills and The Di Marcos (Beppe was ok) and The Irish Fowler took a kicking (probably not as much as The Ferraras took on 2003).

@@tomhiggins6542I agree mate there wasn’t many characters in the 90s I didn’t like aswell and yea I liked the Di Marcos they were a great addition to the show I also didn’t mind the Hills although I did find them a bit boring and pointless at times.

@@NoirFan84 I didn't mind them The Kapoors, probably The Taylor's level of indifference rather than on level with the likes of Ben, Callum, Jean ect. Some people complained about The Tavaneer parents but I don't think they was overly offensive and I liked Hattie, Clyde and Jules.

@@JDillon03MUFC Ted & Tony was dull, Sara was annoying but actress redeemed herself somewhat in My Family.

David and Ricky, the stepbrothers who hated one another. In late April 1994 they almost had a fight and Ricky took a swing at him but David blocked it.
