When my grandpa died, we didn't do family parties for birthdays or Easter/Mothers Day but we started back at Thanksgiving that year. He passed in February, so we didn't do family get togethers until November. We used to cook all the meals but now we just cook Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas. All the birthdays we get either pizza or spaghetti.

Andrea used to have ribbons of all colors near her sewing table. I don't know if they are still there, but you could put different color ribbons on the pink baskets so the kids can tell them apart

Just finished watching on the replay, since I came in late. Tom, you did a fantastic job, you put so much care into getting each child something special, just for them. Once my kids got a certain age, I stopped doing the baskets and would either buy a useful or needed gift (swimsuit, goggles, or set of clothes) or some money!

I had a huge Friendsgiving/Easter for a group of friends but as many had kids they started to migrate to their family (or their family came to them) so we stopped. Hubby and I do what we want now. This year we are going to Cracker Barrel. I just didn’t have it in me to cook for us all the sides.

I have chronic pancreatitis from a medical accident for over 20 years. If she can cut caffeine and chocolate (on top of the low fat) it may help. I wish there was an answer/help but it’s not there. Praying for her!

Time sneaks up on you and it's another holiday or another big event coming up when you're any parent, but especially when you're a parent of many and doing things solo. Give yourself grace Tom, sometimes in adulting we're treading water, and don't feel bad for doing things last minute.

My grandmother loved hunting eggs so she would make golden eggs and hunted eggs with her 12 grandchildren and divided the eggs between us. My one and only son is 32 and I still make him and his wife a joint Easter basket. I use a car washing bucket and fill it with stuff the both like and their favorite candy I also make my 4 grandchildren a basket. It’s my joy and I love doing them. I still dye eggs with them every year. I want them to have those memories I have with my grandmother and mother.

My parents did baskets till out of school. But when I aged out of the Easter egg hunt .I still wanted to hunt eggs so at home I would take plastic eggs and hide them then hunt them.

You could do 2 rounds of hiding eggs. Let bigger kids and teenagers hide for eachother. I bet they would love that! They might even hide some for you, there are colors that are not being used

I have tiny living space, 2 kids. I just wonder where all the belongings go in your house. I struggle with storage and am forced to minimize all THINGS necessary and unnecessary. Please share your secrets! I welcome any advice! Holidays, bdays, etc really create a challenge, esp when items take space.

Save the gg machines and plastic eggs and markers etc for next year that will save you a little bit. Get a plastic box and tuck it away in attic for next year. Get 1 or 2 kids to be responsible for it
