Easter Sunday in 1939 was on 9th April so I imagine this trips was undertaken in the week around April 5th-12th. Weather appears remarkably calm.

The Blandfordia punicia shown at the beginning of the video flower around Christmas, thus their common name “Christmas Bells”, so it is very unlikely this video is from April. Christmas Bells at the final stage of fruiting by April. Other wildflowers shown also suggest the filming was done in Summer.
