I enjoyed your hat stories so much! As a teenager in the 60s I wore Pillboxes as my idol was Jackie Kennedy. My favorite hat memory, though was of my mother. We’d been going down the escalator at JL Hudson in Detroit when she saw The Hat: a wide-brimmed, high-crown number in leopard fur with a red satin lining. The budget went out the window, out came the plastic! She wore that hat until her 4th baby claimed it as his “kitty.” Great memories❤

I love your hats! Especially the one your Mom made....Gorgeous! I actually did like that bronzy-brown hat with your jacket! It brough out the amber colored flowers in the jacket that I really didn't even notice until you put on that particular hat!! Who knew!! Love all your hats and attire / outfits. My wedding hat and veil were similar to what your mother made but minus the ruffled trim. Mine was more of a Jackie-O Pill box......I made it with buckram and heavy felt and covered it with the Spanish lace that I also made my wedding coat with.........very airy and flowing floor length over a sheath of white rayon/poly fully lines. On the coat I also sewed 1200 seed pearls and with the thread I pulled a long dark piece of hair at my age of 20 and sewed it along with the thread thru the pearls for keepsake. So I guess I may have some of my DNA from age 20 still in the coat these 57 years later. LOL Truly however, I do love all your videos Nanny and your outfits and mine of those days were very similar. And.....yes always an easter bonnet and gloves and handbag with heels. Not these days however. Those were the days!!! Thank you for sharing, and I hope your bridal shower and Easter were wonderful. Hi from Annie Happy Easter to you all. You look wonderful in all those clothings and hats too.....The weather here in Adelaide is very warm was 31 deg on Sat n Sunday they say it is the hottest easter Sudan in 73yrsit is amazing and the nights were about 18deg but humid.Normally we don't have easter till April first week. This year it is early adit had to be nearest to the full moon. It is also a leap year too. It would be very exciting seeing all the family for celebrations.

Happy Easter Nanny and Moosie!!!! -I have trouble writing comments at the time, as my laptop has broken down... Looking so much forward to getting a new one😉 I try to use a tablet with its mind of its own... Not getting much my own way!!!!🤣🤣 Must have been so lovely seing Bill, Bonnie and the other kids, grands and great grands during Easter time Just another crazy idea: How about putting a coyote proof metal net over the roof of the patio with the arbor entrance. And let the jasmin or something lighter nest on the roof. Also metal net on open spaces around the patio. (Can not recall what it looks like on the sides.) -You would have shade. A safe outdoor space for Shamu. And a good place for the cat litter box.. And an extra room to your house. You could go all out and have a patio door built into the wall off the house.

Yes, my friend, I was always right there to hop on the band wagon with every new fashion fad when it came out….the hot pants, mini skirts, thigh high boots, maxi coats, …chemise dresses, crinolines and felt circle skirts,etc..I could make (sew) a lot of these things myself, too…my hair darkened a bit as I grew older from light to dirty blonde…but I started the lemon juice, peroxide, then hair lighteners to keep it light…oh…the good old days😂😘❤️

Nanny,you could wear a gunny sack & still look gorgeous! The last time I wore a hat ,way back in 1963,I was a fat, cat eye eyeglasses,wearing,10 year old, & hated that hat on me!!! Lol! Happy Easter Nanny, Moose, and family! Good to see Piper reunited with her "pawents", Billy and Bonnie. Matt and others. Love the old photos of Easter's past.I also love the white lace blouse. So pretty on you. It's an overcast Easter day, with some snow left here and there. I'm probably going to be wearing black, and casual to my nieces Easter dinner later today. Maybe I'll stick a big white flower on or some pearls to lighten things up. I do have a few hats I could break one out just for fun. I used to like to wear. They do look great on you. In England they wear hats no matter. There's a hat for everyone. I think of Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, and some of the wild hats they've worn. My mom wore hats to church. I remember one in particular that was dark blue straw with a bouquet of purple violets on it. I still have it in a box somewhere. She probably wore a navy spring coat with, and gloves. We always had special Easter dresses, hats and gloves, shoes. Happy memories. Easter egg hunts, baskets, chocolate bunnies, etc. Ham, cheesy scalloped potatoes, asparagus, deviled eggs, strawberries, pineapple, and coconut cake for dinner. I was one of nine children and oh those times were so wonderful.. Today at 78,l miss all of that so much. What a great day for a visit from you! Yesterday was my hubby's 80th birthday. All of our children treated us to a dinner of seafood in our little pavillion. One of our daughters hates seafood so she and I got chicken instead. Our daughters baked her dad a cake from scratch and beautifully decorated it. So, our favorite neighbors stepped across the street for some birthday cake. I am so blessed to be surrounded by great family and friends and nce neighbors I consider you and Moosie to be friends, though we may never meet face to face. I send you virtual hugs.
