A Jewish wonderful recipe that's a chocolate heaven! My Easter recipe⎜vegan chocolate and hazelnut babka is what you need for your sweet Easter because its easy to make, its so gorgeous and tastes like you've bitten on a piece of chocolatey cloud and went straight to heaven!
Enjoy it and have yourself a wonderful Easter!
EASTER RECIPE⎜VEGAN CHOCOLATE AND HAZELNUT BABKA!
INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE DOUGH:
3/4 cup warm plant-based milk (180ml)
2 tablespoons of sugar (30g)
1 teaspoon of active dry yeast (5.5g)
50g of melted vegan butter
1 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of all-purpose flour (390g)
FOR THE FILLING:
200g of chocolate hazelnut cream (approximately or to taste)
Baking tin measures 24 x 12 x 7cm
METHOD:
Add all the dry ingredients for the babka dough to a bowl, mix to combine. Add the liquids, mix well until incorporated. Transfer the dough to a clean dry surface and knead it for about 15 minutes. Put the dough back in the bowl, rub it with some olive oil, cover with a tea towel and let it proof for about 45 minutes.
Remove the dough from the bowl and with the help of a rolling pin, spread the dough in a shape of a large rectangle. Add the hazelnut chocolate spread to the dough avoiding the ends, live a room of 1 inch on each side of the dough.
Preheat the oven to 180C (356F).
Roll it all the way until the end, pinch the seam, cut it in the middle but leave it connected at the top, then braid it, tie the ends, transfer the babka to a baking tin and let it proof for 30 minutes more. Put it in the oven for 45 minutes.
Remove from the oven and remove the babka from the tin and place it in a cooling rack so it doesn't get wet.

This is fantastic - do you have any tips on resting or letting the dough prove/rise, as I have seen a number of different recipes that require the dough to sit overnight in the fridge. Have you tried this?

I have purchased this because my blender is not nearly as strong to make my own cream, this one is from a Spanish brand called La Vida Vegan.

Oh, I wish I could make it, my blender is not powerful enough to make that smooth cream... Not all of the hazelnut chocolate creams have dairy, there are some vegan brands available...
