I was so inspired by this, but I had an idea to use the ingredients I had already, so i made this with white chocolate ganache type of cream , almonds instead of hazelnuts, and rose water syrup. There's a Lebanese style cake I was combining thought with in making this. It was amazing. I'm going to do your exact receipe here soon.

Wow, עוגת שמרים! (ugat shmarim - that's how they call it usually in Tel-Aviv XD) It's a pity that they don't give a short introduction that babka is a popular cake in Israel, it's a sweet braid originated in the Jewish communities (i think in Poland and Ukraine specifically). We bake such braids in Tel-Aviv in our bakery and people just loooove them. Thank you for sharing this beauty!
