A synthesis of Western and Eastern dormition/assumption traditions along with the (prudential) vision shared by Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich provides a beautifully whole picture of our lady's glorious entry to take her place as queen of saints and angels in heaven. Certainly helpful when meditating on the glorious mystery of Mary's assumption in the rosary as well. Thanks for posting!

What language is the Eastern liturgy in? Is it in English or Latin or a different language?
@timfariss31726 жыл бұрын
Eastern Liturgy includes a broad spectrum from the Copts and Ethiopians in Egypt; to the Syro-Malankara/Syro-Malabar Indians; to the Arabic Lebanese and Syrians, Byzantine Melkites, as well as byzantine Italo-Greeks, Ukrainians, Russians, Romanians, Croatians, Slovaks, Bulgarians, Hungarians. In America, most of the Byzantines are in English, some of it is in the vernacular of the Church (NOT Latin). Latin remained the vernacular of the church in the west from ~400-1500AD, the revolution of the printing press allowed for education and literacy to happen in the local vernaculars of the Romance Languages. Slovaks were using the vernacular of Church Slavonic since 900AD developed by Ss. Cyril and Methodius (Equals to the Apostles). In the 1950's, in America we began the switch to English as the 2nd/3rd generation immigrants became naturalized.

I would like to see you debate or converse with Jay Dyer on Eastern Orthodoxy. Jay has presented some compelling differences in the theology of grace that is very convincing.

@@DrTaylorMarshall Do you have any resources on the stance Eastern Catholics take when dealing with the "Bad Pope" issue?
