Read the Bible. In Matthew 12 v 46 and Mark 6 v 3 where it tells us that Jesus had four brothers, and at least two sisters. Why do some people not refer to the Bible for their information? That is the Word of God.

@@rhonawilson6428 Matthew 12:46 uses the word in Hebrew that means "relatives" in general, not sibling specifically. Mark 6:3 uses similar terminology. Neither verse calls any of them Mary and Joseph's offspring, and James has his own mother. Ultimately, you and I are just as much brothers to Christ as His Apostles were.

What makes you think that Catholics know nothing of the faith and of the bible when we originally compiled & translated the books that are now 'The Bible'? So don't come to us with quoted scriptures trying to teach us. Keep in mind that the bible wasn't sent directly to us from heaven but rather, was 'traditionally' written by man, interpreted by man of events that happened in the past & is what Catholics acknowledge. The Immaculate Conception and understanding it! I learned this about the correct understanding of the Immaculate Conception about10 years ago! It was so profound in my life that once that Light went on...about Mary and therefore also the Rosary... my life both dramatically at times..other times more slowly with many failings still too but from which comes this continuous desire to strive and move forward for ALL Grace's through Her intercession. Not to "Worship " her but to ask a Jewish mother to ask her Jewish son for favors! What Good Jewish son says "No!" to his Mama???So....by, for and from Her Son...she obtains Graces full and overflowing, like a full cup overflowing of boiling bubbling liquid..righ over the sides and down all over everywhere! LIKEWISE with this understanding of such Graces, they began to flow in my own life. To flow to me around that time abd still now like living water...in my own life, consoling me not to dwell in my past failings and making up for my deficiencies in moving forward with miracles big, medium, and small! But this also included recognizing some miracles most of us take for granted, like our very lives themselves being pure Grace... that is... an unearned and pure gift that we did zero to deserve! Everything is a Blessing Full of Grace!!! Increasing dedication to the intercession of My Virgin Mother is higher than ever and is Yours for the taking as was represented symbolically and actually by Jesus gift of His Mother to us as he gave her to the youngest Apostle John at the foot of the Cross. He while the youngest was the only Apostle who did not run away at Jesus Crucifixion. Who by this action in his case afterwards in the company of the Blessed Mother for a time after Pentecost and who lived with Mary's real both physical and spiritual presence for the rest of her earthly life, first on the island of Ephesus. From this, and as the only one of the 12 Apostles not martyred he lived to just over 100 emphasizing this Grace to go on into his old age and to them write: (Talking about being FULL OF GRACE!!!) 1. Actually the scripture reference is Luke 1:43 and all of the Bible versions on BibleGateway (including Catholic ones) use the term ‘mother of my Lord’ NOT ‘’mother of God’. The Greek word for Lord used in the passage is ‘Kirios’ NOT ‘theos’, whic( would refer to God. This is a good example of what is known in hermeneutics as ‘eisegesis’.......reading something into the scripture which isn’t there. The so-called Immaculate Conception flatly contradicts Romans 3:23 which states that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’. St Paul makes no exception for Mary, nor did he need to, as the real Mary (Miryam) expressed herself just a few verses later in Luke 1:46, that her spirit rejoiced ‘in God her SAVIOUR’. She didn’t need any special treatment , something the Catholic Church would erroneously put on her, along with other undeserved titles centuries (like 19 centuries in this case) later. COI: Cradle Catholic, now Born-Again by the Holy Spirit. Shalom 🙏😇😊

Nice explanation of kekaritomene, future past perfect. Allow me to add two things to that. The salutation introduction of Kaire makes this a royal salutation. We aren't used to language that makes distinctions of social class or rank. Gabriel addresses her as his ontological superior (St Thomas Aquinas discusses this in the Summa). What I missed years ago when I studied this in the Greek is that kekaritomene is also in the feminine form. so this superabundant greeting could be something like, "Hail, Lady of Grace, full, perfected, and overflowing." Did any other human get a greeting like this from an angel?

Thank you, Dr. Marshall. I grew up Presbyterian and Lutheran, converting to Catholicism as a young adult. I have struggled with my understanding of Mary, especially having attended Lutheran seminary. I feel like she reaches out to me and I feel constantly beckoned by her to learn more and come into a relationship with her. I was even called into making rosaries as a ministry. I'm still young in that relationship, but I'm trying. I'm trying to learn more and grow closer. This video helped me so much today. So thank you again.

In Northern Baja, Mexico too. My Franciscan parrish are of brave devoted priest last closing they opened for after a liturgy for Eucharist and confession every Sunday against authorities and Bishop with the pretext that the were not having masses. But this time they are afraid as they have being worned that churches are closed period so they can get big fines which they cannot pay and they can get in trouble with the diocesis too. I offered to help but they are worried because people (neighbors and many church goers) think they should be closed as everything else (that is not close yet) because authorities are scaring people strait. That is the tragedy the lack of support to keep our churches opened. Even many priest and devoted church goers are scared. Not me. Churches are big opened areas enough space for people to keep a distance people were masks its sanitized every mass. Protocols are complied. This is not temporary nor coming from God, people just do not get it.

Excellent reflection on the Immaculate Conception which was revealed to us through Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Teaching Authority of the Catholic Church. Of the "immaculate conception," the NEW CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA admits that "Scripture makes no direct reference to Mary's conception." (Volume 7, p.378) "The earliest Church Fathers regarded Mary as holy but not as absolutely sinless." (Volume 7, p.378,379) The Catholic Encyclopedia admits:"NO DIRECT or categorical and stringent proof of the dogma can be brought forward from Scripture."

I don’t know if you are a Catholic Christian or a protestant. Prods generally dissent against all things Catholic because their founders strayed from the truth. As the years went by more truth was lost as more fallible men threw away even the truth that the prod founders taught. This hollowing out of the faith continues to this day. They dissent, they even protest against what Jesus said in the bread of life discourse and at the last supper to follow Judas. Yes there are many stray theological opinions by this author or that encyclopedia. Just look at prods they contradict each other on everything. It’s the fallacy of Sola Scriptura. Yes the early church father’s even struggled with the Trinity or defining the real presence as transubstantiation until the whole Catholic Church came together. The Catholic Church eventually settled the four Marian Dogmas as part of the deposit of faith. Remember Jesus sent the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit to lead to all truth in the church he started 2000 years ago. If you were to read the early church fathers the majority (New Advent Encyclopedia) taught Mary’s divine motherhood (settled by Council of Ephesus), perpetual virginity (s b Lateran Council), immaculate conception (s b Pius IX) and the assumption (s b Pius XII) or even the absolute purity of Mary or that she was the new Eve. So just because you present dissenting opinions means nothing. The deposit of faith is preserved by the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church nowhere else. God bless you.

When I did the "33 Days to Morning Glory", the Sister that I was working with at the Shrine of St. John Paul II (these sisters are from Poland and very much attached to the Blessed Mother, and they are the Sisters from St. Faustina's Order) told me to pick my consecration date. Dr. Marshall you arr a treasure. My friend apostasised snd is now a Born again Christisn She denies Mary is Immaculated and demies Transubstsnciarion. I told her Jesus said Take this al of you and eat THIS IS MY BODY THIS MY BLOOD.. She believes it is a symbol of his Body and Blood. I read that when a Eucharistic mirace was being examined only one DNA showed up that was from Our Lady. Please pray that my friend will return to her Catholic faith thay she folloeef for 45 yrs. I asked if the Holy Spirit would enter a person with a stain of sin. Its hard to convince her I pray the Angelof Portugal prayer for her daily at the Consectation of the Mass. Jeus I beieve iin you. Thank you for this explanation. I was always taught that Mary was of a virgin birth which didn't sit right with me. I think a lot of people make this assumption just because we are told he didn't have original sin. Your explanation makes more sense.

I was thinking as you were explaining (so wonderfully) The Immaculate Conception and how it would be impossible for The Holy Ghost to have "overshadowed" Mary to conceive with any sin as The Holy Ghost has no sin. Sin comes from the fall of man not God.

good point! The womb should be holy if the womb is not holy then it is the same thing as to say Our Lord Jesus is not Holy. Our Lord Jesus is God, to deny His mother's holiness is denying His Divinity.

As a Catholic talking with non-Catholics, I have trouble dealing with 1 John 1:8 when someone brings it up. "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." This verse seems absolute in covering everyone, which obviously would include Mary. Regardless of all the other ways that the Church tries to defend Mary being sinless from birth to death, including Scripture, Tradition, and ECF's, this verse in particular doesn't appear to leave any room for an alternative reading other than it applying to every human being who has ever lived, apart from Jesus obviously. Your response please?
