I like that the mother understands that joy come from acts of service and not always just from receiving. Instead of him receiving a gift he was able to give joy to others and that does so much for the psyche.

What a mother Dawson has to request that he be given a chance to give acts of kindness to others. It made me feel good to see Dawson helping others and feeling important, that he mattered. He really enjoy helping and i think got something out of it. Glad you could do that for Dawson. He said he like the scanner the best. @@JAVONEETHEMOMMY I totally agree, it's not easy. He will find peace, God will help him in this area and all areas of life. It does feel good to help others and to see the smiles on their faces is priceless. I was raised and i saw it modeled by my mother. She was very giving, loving person and she would do what she could to help others. She really never thought of herself. She was the kind of person that would give the clothes off of her back to help if she thought it would help, and she did it.

Awww, he's such a beautiful caring kid, and it's absolutely NOT his fault, but I have PTSD and understand how trauma like that gets stuck in your head. I think it's the wish that the accident never happened that makes us feel guilty, but we can't undo time either. Prayers that Dawson can get a hold of this idea in a way he understands it.

Based on how they described this reaction he has experienced and taken on some trauma. It can be fully healed but requires some counseling and potentially some treatment like neurofeedback, CBT, EMDR, etc. So if his parents read this, take him to a child trauma expert so this doesn't turn into anxiety and PTSD down the road, young brains are fragile but fixable.

Here's a suggestion, because so many people aren't qualified for Food Stamps, those who need to visit a food bank, it would be impressive if Nate takes those people after the food bank visit, to the grocery store for items that are not provided, like salad ingredients, unprocessesed foods. There is a lot of poor quality foods , fillers that are offered just to put into bellies but people need healthy food. Even $15 for fresh food items would suit. Just an idea that I hope Ashley Furniture might take on.
