The leading questions are a bit much, but i do like Ms. Blake a lot. Her opening was marvelous. I figure the defense knows that the prosecution will get it all in anyway, so they could shave a week off the trial by letting the state lead all the witnesses to exactly what they need to establish Lori’s guilt. Like just get to the point so everyone can go home 😅 Plus, Lori is so vile and evil that I almost wonder if it would make the jury hate Lori even more if defense counsel objected to every legitimately leading question on direct and redirect. I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve found the perspectives of public defenders really interesting on this case. And it def feels like everyone on defense gave up and just wanted to go home. C’s get degrees kind of defeated attitude. But it’s just kind of funny because once it’s cemented in your head what a leading question is you can’t unhear it. 😮💨 Ya know? like technically she should only be asking vague questions on direct and redirect and sort of let the witness hone in on relevant observations. Like what did you do that day? Who did you see that day? You said you saw so and so-when did that happen? What did you observe about so and so? What else stood out to you about so and so? Etc. Instead of being like Did Chad Daybell visit you on this day and talk to you about such and such? And after he told you such and such, didn’t chad then ask you to do blankety blank. And then did you observe anything odd when you were at this place at this specific time? Would you say it’s fair that you thought blankety blank about Chad’s behavior? Etc etc etc. Lol the Depp trial especially will ruin you in that regard because Camille Vasquez was an objection assassin with all those sustained leading question objections against Elaine.

Chad's true character shone through when he left his kids to grieve on their own, while he shacked up with Lori right away. I was 48 when my Dad passed & I don't know how I would have made it through without my Mom's consistent presence & love. That's how parents can help their children, be they still young or have already reached adulthood. Losing a parent in particular is not like the death of anyone else you love. It is the hardest to deal with and come to terms with, while still trying to continue functioning day to day. Only the love of another parent and their consistency in being there with you & providing that unconditional love you need can begin to help you start moving forward. If both parents have passed hopefully you are close with someone who is experiencing the same thing, or has, that you are. I never realized it to be so true when someone once said that losing a parent is a loss on a whole other level. Leaving your children to grieve while watching you so quickly move on is one of the saddest things I think he could have done to his kids. Shame on him. He's not behaving like a father now....he just seems like their sperm donor.

He has the audacity to bring Lori to this heartbroken womans home and behave in an entirely disrespectful way. Spin some dumb yarn about Loris ex-husband, go disappear and the whole time this woman has been caring for and watching HIS KIDS when he should been there!!! Coming to a horrendous realization about Tylee and J.J.. Having this fool showing up on her door step asking if he can move in?!?! Interesting he choose to go to her to ask instead of her husband. Especially considering in the LDS it is a patriarchy. Men are the head of the home. The reality of his wording to her when she confronted him is the cherry on this demented, vile cake. She probably thought back to every interaction with him, the times when he'd be away and thinking at any of those times, they were butchering and burning Tylee and torturing that defenseless boy to death and burying him. And yet - his children were all adults at this time. The *youngest* of them was considered adult enough to go out and engage people in spiritual conversions. I understand if they do not want to get involved with the media (conventional or online) but at some point they owe the woman who gave birth to them, cared for them - and who would have defended *them* to the death.

If the witness saw, heard or felt something themselves, then that is their testimony and can be admitted. If the witness testifies that someone else told them what they (the other person) saw, heard, etc. then that would be considered hearsay. It happens though. Children can't differentiate the person they knew and grew up with as a parent to the monster they are being shown. The same thing happened with a family in the UK. Fred and Rose West committed one of the most horrific crimes Britain has ever seen. Both parents did the hideous acts together, including sexually abusing their own 8 children. Fred killed himself in custody, and Rose is currently serving a whole life sentence. Their daughter Mae used to go see Rose in prison, and she says in her book it took her years to come to the realisation that her mother was involved in any of it, even though she had personal experience of how evil her mother was. They go into denial, it's like a coping mechanism. They will see it as everything was fine until Lori came along and seduced our dad. He didn't do anything, it was all that b*****s fault, her and her nutcase of a brother and family, our dad's a victim in all this too.
@allysonh6410 Жыл бұрын
How is it hearsay if she hears on the NEWS that the kids were missing????? That was ridiculous
@wap91378 ай бұрын
It's hearsay because the other side can not view the specific news she heard. Because they can't view it, they can't cross-examine her on what it said. They're left having to accept what she said. Each side has the right to cross-examine the other side's witnesses.

This is the first time I've really seen the humanity of Chad's children. All that had been shown of them were their flippancy toward media, denying that their father was guilty, and most of all that they took down the memorial for jj and tylee. You couldn't even see if they were upset at all by their mother's death and the brutal homicide of 2 children buried in their yard. Then they moved into the death house 😵. This shows the other side. And I do feel for them. How wretched will be the day when they'll either have to double down on denial or face what their father really is. As painful as it is, the only way through is to see reality as it is. Anything else will be hanging around a tiny little false oasis pool, never escaping and never growing into their true capacity. They'll have to face that unimaginable pain of reality and work through it with a lot of support and hopefully therapy. I learned yesterday that Chad had his own kids labeled dark spirits as well. Given enough time these 2 narcissistic murderers may have racked up a kill count to pale a small war. Because they truly were at war with the world filled with zombies, and the first people they were eliminating were their families. So Chad's kids are very lucky that they were not little kids when this happened and that the family annihilators got caught, because his kids were indeed on that list.

I don't get why the prosecution objected to playing 'the podcast'. It just reinforces what a total loon she is. I don't think her crazy 'religious' beliefs can be used as a legit excuse for murdering her kids. My recollection of Alex's trip to Mexico for drugs was the weekend b4 he died. My guess is Chad & Lori told him he had to off himself and told him where to buy it and what to buy. We all know he did whatever Lori told him to do.

They are, but they are a necessary part of a fair trial. Hearsay is when you retell what someone told you, but that person can't be cross examined. I can say, "Mike told me..." if Mike is an available person for the trial. (Which is why she can say what Chad told her). But, if Mike is not an available witness for the trial, you can't say what that person told you because it becomes your word against theirs (but theirs is ever refutable).
