Ugh, this makes me cry. I’m helping my fiancé take care of his grandmother now. She’s in her 90’s & her kids never come to see her. Breaks my heart for her that we’re the only ones she sees day in & day out. I almost resent her kids for not coming to see her being only hours away🥺😫💔

@@lwchelsie Try not to feel resentment, although I can understand it's probably hard not to, but just know what a difference you and your fiance are making in improving her quality of life, and you guys are definitely earning your angels' wings!! I completely get that frustration when their own kids won’t come to visit them. My uncles didn’t even come down before she died when she was given days to live and one only lived an hour and a half away. It was painful to see her hurt every birthday and Christmas, etc.

The young lady at the end reminded me of my mommy. She loved music and dancing. My boys and grandma had a little dance party before I took them to school every morning. Even when she was at her sickest my older 2 boys would hold her up so she could dance with them. She didn't want to miss out. We lost her 5 yrs ago she is missed everyday but her memories are alive. Sorry, I don't think this is a nursing home. It's a retirement home for independent living seniors. I am 75 and live in such a community. Our residents still drive cars and get around but some like me, gave up my car. Too expensive to maintain but I miss desperately the independence of my old car, a Toyota. SO I get around on a Pace Bus or taxis, a private chauffeur I call them. So maybe Santa will bring me a new, used car to help me. I live alone but I'm not sad, I have many hobbies and interests to keep me busy Sad are the people that never developed a hobby.

When Covid hit here in San Antonio really hard and everything was flying off the shelves in the grocery store I went over to check on him to make sure he had things that he needed and we started to develop a friendship and I check on him every day and I walk his dog for him every night with my dog to give his dog a nice long walk because my neighbors knees are in really bad shape and he can’t walk very far. But he gets out and drives and goes places. I’m 55 and when I’m not working and I have free time I make jewelry it’s a fun hobby. have a blessed day

My father lived his last 2 years in a care home. We are lucky that he had 6 kids, all of us over 50, and at that time, 3 of us were 60 and over. This meant we were ourselves retired, and one of us, and our children, and their children, could see him every day. ( For the record, Dad had 6 kids, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, 2 more have come along in the last year, thye'll never meet him, but they'll know about him in due course) Some ladies and gentlemen were not so lucky, some of their families had jobs and could only get there once a week or less. Some didn't have anyone, so we tried to go over and spend time with them, and get to know them. Our Care Workers are unsung heroes. So, to Care Workers around the world, thank you, and never think we don't appreciate you. And good work Guys, wherever your lives take you, may you get there in peace and happiness.
