Great comparison between the materials. If I would only have one guitar it would be an OM with spruce top and mahogany back. Luckily I can have more than one ! :D Loved the sound of both !

Overall I think I prefer the stronger fundamental tone of the E10/Mahogany compared to the lusher overtones of the E20/Rosewood. It is easier to hear all the notes being played on the E10/mahogany. The instruments sound so resonant that there is plenty of sustain in the mahogany instrument. If they weren't so resonant or as well built - maybe the rosewood instrument would be my preference.

Out of interest, how close in sound would you say these Eastman TC’s are in sound to what the pre war co are doing in Carolina? Different ball park or are these guitars good enough to save myself a few k?

Although Eastman are great guitars there in no shape or form comparable to Pre-War Guitars made in North Carolina. It’s a whole different approach. The difference in sound between the two brands is noticeable.

With my eyes closed, I can’t even tell when the guitar is switched.
