Hi there! I'm taking a break from using images from my book collection, and today I am going to make a surreal collage with only items from the dollar store! This should be a really fun challenge :)

Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

This is so creative! There are tons of videos of people using Dollar Tree products for their art, DIY, home decor, organization but this is by far the most creative thing I’ve seen! Love this video! My daughter who is 19 and I were talking about how much fun this would be for a group of friends to do. She has gotten together with friends and done Bob Ross painting at Christmas they made crazy foam snowmen. Super fun, good for a laugh. You definitely have an eye for surreal.💕Amy
