thanks that was fun. about to start building arrows and want to start with the easton axis. if you are hunting northern ADK big woods with a bow that is excellent.

Cool build. Personally I think there are a lot of things to factor in and people tend to grasp onto a single metric and go past the point of diminishing returns.
@roamhunting94213 жыл бұрын
Thanks and yes I would agree with you on that point. On this build, I think I hit my limit as far as what I can tolerate with arrow velocity, weight, FOC, etc. My previous arrow set up is probably a more forgiving and well-rounded arrow but i'm excited to test this one out in the fall.

ROAM - I'm getting conflicting information about the size inserts and outserts I need for this same arrow in 300 spine. Can you direct me to the correct sizes?

ethicsarchery.com/collections/all/products/203-204-adjustable-outsert-system-272-sleeve-12-pk This is what you would need for a 300 Spine Axis 5mm. It's the .204 Post with .272 Sleeve

Hi Roam. Can you tell me what Ethics size inserts and outserts I need for the arrow in 340 spine. Can you direct me to the correct sizes?

I'm shooting the 5mm Axis this year, using Easton accessories i.e. Brass inserts and adapter ring. Can you provide the Ethics Archery part numbers for your build?
@roamhunting94213 жыл бұрын
for the 260 Spine Axis 5mm I used these ethicsarchery.com/collections/all/products/203-204-adjustable-outsert-system-281-sleeve On their website you can select your arrow and spine they will list compatible products

@@roamhunting9421 hey man did you have to sand shafts to fit sleeve over?
@roamhunting94212 жыл бұрын
@@deanbrandonsnelling7949 with these collars I did not have to sand the arrow shaft. I have built several arrows with the ethics system and I have had to sandpaper the shaft in some cases. Its had no impact to the structural integrity of the arrow any time i have had to sand
@Millermiller273 жыл бұрын
Did you have to do any sandpapering of your arrow shaft to make the collar fit? I’ve seen/read where some people had to do this with ethics. If so, would that affect the structural integrity in your opinion?
@roamhunting94213 жыл бұрын
Great question, with these collars I did not have to sand paper the arrow shaft. I have built several arrows with the ethics system and I have had to sandpaper the shaft in some cases. I have not seen any negative side effects from it. You can get the Outside Diameter of your arrow and see what the size of the sleeve that Ethics offers to see if you will need to sand it. I believe that taking off a couple thousandths from the shaft for sleeve to fit is a non issue in terms of structural integrity.
@williamdavenport3723 жыл бұрын
@@roamhunting9421 Agreed. When I have had to sand (Victory VAP .166 insert/outserts) I did not worry about structural issues much, especially with the banger sleeve. And never saw any flaw from it after many many shots.

That's a heavy arrow I do prefer a heavier arrow I shoot just over 500 grains and I do take my 430 ish ones with from time to time while they fly great just don't care for em much rather have the heavier ones best of luck
@roamhunting94213 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes this arrow certainly is a heavy one. I do think that an arrow just over 500 total grains is probably a much better all around arrow at least for someone shooting similar specs. I'll be experimenting with these heavy arrows this season and will likely do a video on how they perform at the end of the year.
