Hello Brad, what an amazing addition to the Woodyard. If you’re planning on leaving it located there I think a lean to off the side of the shed “wood” be a great addition as well. Then you would be out of the rain/snow and sunshine. You’ll be ready to pump out some bundle wood. Cheers Woody !!!

At first I was thinking you were getting an Ultra then I stated thinking no it will be a Axis and I was right. That’s awesome, I’d love to have an Axis but the Ultra treats me just fine for my operation as I normally don’t take large logs and make my suppliers bring them me in a manageable size. I hope you get some large bundle accounts to keep that machine running a couple days per week.

To warrant the expense of two splitters, you gotta be doing a lot of firewood. I appreciate the channels like yours that don't give out all the details on your sales, makes you seem more humble. For precision splits, nothing beats a vertical splitter. Am deciding between a box wedge splitter myself and a vertical splitter to upgrade from my WR 28C. Since I've gotten several mobile splitting jobs, am rethinking which splitter design to go with. One day I'll have TWO nice splitters!

Congrats on the Axis arriving to your wood yard. I am surprised your little skid loader was able to pick it up and move it. Now you're all set to make bundle wood and break down those nasty gnarly big tree service rounds in to manageable chunks for the 12-22. Don't forget to set the stroke limiter on the Axis.
@FirewoodattheFurnace Жыл бұрын

Nice! The only thing that bothers me using the Axis is the exhaust. As soon as the warranty is over I’m ripping off the muffler and running it to the top of the beam and putting on a tractor muffler. I hate smelling the fumes and the heat from the exhaust. If the shed traps the fumes you might want to use a fan to blow them away.

@robertjones8666 Жыл бұрын
Your process looks really efficient except for one choke point that probably accounts for 20-30% of the total time it takes to split a round. That would be getting the wood from the outfeed portion of the table to the conveyor. If there was a way to move the mouth of the conveyor closer to the outfeed or have the outfeed portion have an adjustable angle downward so the wood would slide more easily into the mouth of the conveyor that might solve the problem of congestion in the outfeed area. Great video!
@FirewoodattheFurnace Жыл бұрын
As I get more efficient with the machine, I'm sure i can just slide them down the table to the conveyor. I like the idea of the larger work table for moving things around.
