Ive had the same job for a LONG time and I always wonder if I could just quit and sell firewood and do tree work. I wonder about trailers what size dump I need to fit a good NH cord. I know its like 180 sft or something like that. I also wonder about how to get free logs and such. I just seams like I would need so much money to start its almost like a small biasness loan would be needed. Then the issue is My land project is smaller 2 acre lot so it might be ok but it would take some work to get it set up for logs and such. Sorry for the long comment but you guys are just really hard workers and from what I have seen there is NOBODY telling you to go on break... Simple life hard work pays off!! And im proud and jealous and excited for you guys!!

Stop by anytime I used to have a tree service . 2 acres is plenty we are doing all this on a lil over an acre . My advice is start out and just do it on the weekends or in ya free time . Take the $ ya make and keep putting it back in towards new equipment. . Start out with a used trailer a used saw and a used splitter , my guess is that all could be had for 2-3 grand . Look on Facebook for free wood or call all the tree company’s in ya area . Won’t take long and you will have more wood than ya know what to do with .

What a great video Allen family! I personally think you should name the AXIS machine “ALEXIS”….! Alexis and Buster would make a cute couple and maybe have a baby splitter…!?!?! Welcome to Team Orange and Blue…!!!
@AllenFamilyFirewoodАй бұрын
There’s some top notch genetics right there between the 2 machines . I’d dare say there the 2 top vertical splitters out there with a monster conveyor to keep them moving along . I wonder what would happen if ya mixed old on rusty with new blue and orange . Now that would be quite the creation lol . Thanks Ken

Holy cats. And just finished splitting all my wood. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I don’t see any tan Karen. 😳 Nice set up guys. I did notice Karen. That you put your hand on top of a piece of wood there. That’s a no no with that type of splitter. Have a great day. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻

Sorry Noel, you should have waited! 😂 I am tan, but I’m fair skinned so not surprised you don’t notice lol. I’ll take your word for it, but I’m usually very careful about not putting my hands on top of the wood, I learned that from the best 😂. Have a great day!

WOW, look at this new equipment. Do you like it better than Buster? I missed you last week, but the stacking machine needs some down time now and then. Hawaii is a big difference from Maine. I will see you in a few weeks at Bunyon. Since you offered, I have 110 rounds of hickory that needs split in Ohio. LOL
@AllenFamilyFirewoodАй бұрын
Jim I will check and see if delta airlines has a trailer hitch on the back and if so we will be over with the axis to bust em up lol. After running both I think there baisicaly the same machine . The axis is towable and has a nice paint job and a few other features ole buster don’t so it would be a hard choice if I had to pick .

I wanted to tell you so bad when you was telling me about getting yours a few weeks ago . At least you got to use yours right off I had to wait and stare at it for 2 weeks while Karen was gone . Karen likes it at about 1/3 speed and well I like it full tilt . They sure are quite the machine .

Probably come winter when it stops working I will want to get rid of it . For now though it’s really making sorting the wood real easy . You get any logs in yet maybe we could come down and set the axis up next to your ultra and see how they go head to head .

Recall you coming home from a show earlier this year and Phil opening the trailer doors to reveal two Eastonmade caps- you guys sure can keep a secret! Andrew and his crew make top-notch machines. Regarding Busters new girl, borrowing a line from Fee Waybill and the Tubes “She’s a beauty “- though he better get used to hearing from her “ Oh not tonight dear, I have a splitting headache”!! Be kind.
@AllenFamilyFirewoodАй бұрын
Definitely top notch machines! Wow, you’ve got a good memory Mike. It was hard to keep the secret for so long…well, we may have told a few lol. Yes, Axis is a beauty and sure to have that splitting headache with all the work she’ll be doing. Poor Buster 🤣 BTW, was in your state at LAX Thursday morning and felt the earth move. Emergency alarm going off on everyone’s phones in the airport was pretty trippy! lol. Be kind ✌️

I sorry you had to visit “The Golden State”. Sad state of affairs out here, just 20 yrs. Ago it was still pretty nice, not anymore. We thought of that but I really didn’t want to go changing it to much right outa the gate . It’s really not much higher than the axis but maybe down the rd we might do some experimenting .
@Kevin-z7d4xАй бұрын
I guess what I meant to say is that if u can get the wood from the loggers and tree crews to keep both of them busy
@AllenFamilyFirewoodАй бұрын
We perdy much have a never ending supply of wood with the tree crews we just have to go get it when they call . With our small Woodyard it don’t take long to get jamed up full of logs .
@iffykidmn8170Ай бұрын
Nice upgrade! next you will be needing a new Husqvarna so you can keep them fed and then a new log truck to keep the saw fed.

I think I better start with a bigger Woodyard so we can fit all the extra production we’re going to have . Not sure what I would do with a 3rd saw I only have 2 arms lol . I did put husky mix oil in the gas the other day and the Stihl seemed to like it .
