do you use msconfig during you setups? I have gotten a lot better response forcing the system to even out the inputs. Boot option and then check mark and going to the highest number of cores forces the lanes to run at full cores all of the time and ends the check out lanes to one and allows 4 or 8 or whatever to be available as needed. The 3 second time out I use will allow easier program crashing and pass off. The amount of cores can be forced to run at the highest number 24/7 and it is not bottle necked by Windows 10 using one core at a time and then adding more lanes.

I don't do micro optimizations like that when testing ANY builds on this channel, unless that's the point of the video and it's what I'm trying to test for the video content. For build guides like this, I just to benchmark and show the viewer exactly what they can expect out of the box. That's why I don't even overclock for build guide videos.

Last summer I bought a Dell with a second gen Xeon, got a Gtx 1660S, 16gbs of ram, an new power supply, and an ssd. It holds up pretty well in games but the Xeon has to chug a little bit.

Great vid. Do you think this price point makes too many sacrifices over say a $350 build, eg. an i7 for 8 threads and upgrading to 16gb of ram ? Of course both of these are things that could be added later. Surprised you sent for the large ssd ? I would have though a 250gb SSD, 500gb HDD and having an extra 8gb of ram would be better. Nope they definitely support 92mm as well sorry. That was an attempt to explain that they don't support the typical 120 or 140mm and I didn't say that properly.

@@ZachsTechTurf haha yeah, people are so used to buying 120mm and bigger fans that mostly forget that other sizes exist :D. And TBH I've seen cases with fan screw holes that unless you use very specific parts / CPU coolers it's impossible to mount anything in them, mostly on the cheaper end ofc.

I have a 1600af with xfx rx580 and its great for 1080p 60fps. Keep in mind though if you do go with amd there are some known issues with the drivers causing random black screens under load. Its happened to me although it hasnt been doing it lately. Not everyone has that issue but if you dont want to deal with any hassle go with nvidia since their stuff usually works without much fiddling plus they run cooler overall compared to rx580. I have a good airflow case and i hit 77c on my gpu. Rx580s are known to run a bit hot but its normal for these cards.
