Lindsay, as usual you have blown my mind. You are so talented. What a beautiful painting. i so want to be you. I just discovered you in the last year and have yet to try one of you beginner paintings. I’m a 76 year old granny and hope it’s not to late to learn. Your tutorials give me such great joy.

I would love to do something like this! I was intrigued by the "no drawing required" because I struggle with using strict line work (I approach things like a coloring book) and never being free and loose with my watercolor painting. It's hard for me to pull it off as beautifully as you have done here, but I feel like this style of painting is where watercolor as a medium really shines. I love all the texture and colors mingling wet-in-wet on the leaves. Thank you for the inspiration :)

Lindsay, this is absolutely gorgeous! I had a long hard winter too and I'm heading into surgery tomorrow so I was looking for something soothing to watch tonight. And there you were- painting a beautiful magnolia! I'm going to hold this painting in my mind's eye tomorrow to stay calm and then try painting it as soon as I'm well enough. You are always a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing your talent with me.

My wish is to get good enough to actually frame & hang my work. About crazy weather--we have snow predicted late next week ( April 10 th for several days) here on Colorado. It’s not too unusual for us to get snow in May. I love the snow but grow tired of it by March.❄️❄️❄️

Very pretty Lindsay. And while you were using the liner brush, doing thick-thin-thick strokes, I thought to myself that is the technique for modern calligraphy/copperplate/brush-lettering. All the rage, at the moment! The liner brush is - or was - called a lettering brush. Those beautiful flowing flourishes !

Lots of fun with this one, I have to fight over-working it and my impatience to wait until the painting is dry. I have a Princeton Neptune #10 Round...but mine has virtually no point! Super frustrating. So i bought a Escoda Versatil #10 rigger which I like; still getting the hang of that brush.

Really enjoyed your method of loose painting techniques you demonstrated and yet it turned out very similar to a botanical art painting. I look forward to trying out the techniques at home. As a retired professor of botany I enjoy nature and in particular trying to do some botanical art. The problem I am having is that I am concentrating too much on detail. Need to loosen up a little. Thanks once again.
