Great video, how about some non-metal 80's riffs for beginners? The Cult (Billy Duffy), Echo and the Bunnymen (Will Sergeant) or Billy Idol (Steve Stevens) are three examples that come to mind. Maybe something from REM? It's always good to "think outside the box," "cast a wide net," or [cliche place holder]. Great approach and your positive energy is infectious, which is just what we need these days.

A) This was nearly my 80's band's repertoire (minus Let It Go) B) FTW, I had Def Leppard's 'On Through the Night' the WEEK it came out, so High & Dry was obtained the day it came out C) High & Dry was one of the early 80's best albums and still my favorite Def Leppard release. FEAR IT! D) And a suggestion for one of your intro ditties; Fastway-Say What You Will....Deceptively awesome riff......And David King (vocalist) should have been huge.

Do u have any advice for an intermediate rhythm guitarist? Are there techniques that I should focus on? The type of music i play is thrash metal. I try to emulate riffs in songs like Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold and The Frayed Ends of Sanity by Metallica.
@masonhaxelTMV5 жыл бұрын
one of the biggest things for me was figuring out proper picking technique that would allow for speed and stamina for down picking, alternate picking, and galloping, so finding a good picking technique is quite essential for playing thrash metal rhythms

Hey Rob! Long time follower! It appears you're really into Floyd's. Or at least guitars with them. I had to hardtail my strat cause I couldn't handle it falling out of tune. What's your opinion regarding that and Floyd's, etc?
